Because it was always the Peach Bowl regardless of the corporate sponsor. That's how bowl games make money, by selling their naming rights. But, they still keep the history and tradition of the bowl game.

Correct it is formally recognized as the TaxSlayer bowl as of this year. The "Gator Bowl" is still be there by default if they want I suppose. It all depends on corporate sponsorship and contracts and such. Next year it could be called the Jacksonville Bowl sponsored by Doritos or it could be the Doritos bowl sponsored by Coca Cola. Who knows how far they're going with this corporate sponsor bullcrap.

They should call it "The Slayer Bowl" if TaxSlayer is going to continue to sponsor it and just leave it at that.

Because the College Football Playoff required their bowls to go by their traditional names, staring this year. So the Chick-fil-A Bowl reverted back to the traditional Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

TaxSlayer increased their sponsorship for this year, so the "Gator" was dropped.

And the Iowa sticker is flush and smooth on the helmet. I hope the Vols are fired up on Friday!!

Does anyone else notice how our normal helmets are a painted with white pearl and that one seems to have some gray speckles in it or something?

I was on the sideline for the orange and white game last year. That was the closest I had ever been to the players. I was surprised to see that the helmets have what appears to be gold flake in the white.

That's the best news of the New Year. I love O&W. The greys gotta go in the trash. The worst news of the year is I thought the game comes on today, but when I looked on FoxSports, it said tomorrow. Motherf

Tennessee could have 1939 throwback uniforms. Brown helmets,Orange jerseys,Brown pants and black shoes.
