Never gets old watching dudes argue about clothes.

Its a funny joke. But one of the reasons im so passionately against switching is I think apparel brand is up there with facilities and coaches in importance to an athletic department. What you wear as a person or athlete tells a story about you and your personal brand. Aligning with Adidas doesnt portray excellence in my view.

A great check in business is what do your competitors think?

Social media isnt the be all end all but ours are laughing.

Unpopular opinion, it seems: I couldn't care less whether we are Nike/Adidas/Jordan/whatever brand

If they are paying us more than the other brands are, and we can turn that into NIL money and get better players, I couldn't care less what brand our jerseys are.

Yes, many schools both Nike and Adidas have ugly designs. But, again Individual school designs are different than portfolio wide initiatives. I don't know how to make that any clearer.

The one I put out was an ADIDAS WIDE PORTFOLIO product. The equivalent would be if Nike made all schools do a QR code version. That hasn't happened because they have top shelf brands that would never agree to such preposterous ideas.
How's the crow taste?

I accept crow. I explained in response to DP's information why to my eye it appeared to be a portfolio wide initiative given how many schools adopted them. I don't think that assumption was unreasonable and accept that information as true and a positive piece of news.

I think the point still stands they were exceptionally bad and reflect poorly on the whole brand even if schools were able to pick and choose.

Actually, Tennessee is had much more control over its uniforms with Nike. Nike allow school graphic designers to begin designing uniforms when that became more of a thing. Every uniform worn by a Tennessee team the last four years has been designed by someone on campus, not someone with Nike.

This is the single most interesting thing I've learned this month. I do similar work from time to time - not related to college athletics but sport-related - but I hadn't a clue that was how Nike worked with schools now. I had always assumed Nike's process was similar to the one Adidas offered. Utterly fascinating. All those times anyone was complaining about Nike not respecting something about Tennessee's brand, or not making something they ought to have made over the past four years ... and it was never Nike's call to begin with. Ah. The irony.

I can only imagine the internal portfolio of unused designs that were passed on over the last decade. Boy wouldn't that be interesting to see. I can imagine some very, well, let's call them ambitiously creative efforts.

I'm cool with it if they don't have any ugly patterns and we get block numbers back
If we can just do what Miami has done uniform wise I would be a little more less pissed off. Any of that other crap that they used to do sucks.

I don’t even want to get started on the basketball side of this adidas stuff.

Simple enough design. Perforated part looks weird though.
