Uniform/Helmet/Shoe design thread (merged)

I don't think kids pick schools for the brands. Its just part of a school's overall image. I wish that tradition was the main consideration because UT has a beautiful heritage. Unfortunately that isn't the world we live in.

The only tradition I care about is the tradition of winning! Everything else to me is just window dressing.

Do you not think it's possible for UT to be successful and maintain their traditional look at the same time?

Leather helmets and brown pants?

Guys I'm sure Nike will do some things that each of us dislike, just like Adidas did. I don't think anyone is going to see the Vols on t.v. and wonder if its Tennessee.

Totally agree. I want to make a living selling our football tradition, coaching staff, stadium, game day, and academics. I admire a kid like Josh Dobbs that made a decision to come to UT, not only because of distance, but also of the academic program that he would benefit from.

A football uniform will not contribute one cent to these kids' success after they leave here. Unfortunately, they never consider that.

If ya look good, ya play good. Mhhmmm.. I could honestly care either way. Love the tradition, but am perfectly fine with some tweaks here and there. Will their be a huge change? Who knows? Just win baby! I think we'll be pleased. Nike>adidas imo. Can't wait to see the uniforms revealed.. Just gives me something to look forward to during this difficult time of the year before football finally starts back... GBO!

But this isn't really true. From WHAT'S BEEN POSTED ON HERE, it sounds like UT did somehow manage to get a slightly more favorable deal than some other schools who are forced to give Nike complete control over their uniforms. However, Nike is still going to hold a pretty heavy hammer in the decision making process, so that worries me. Even if the administration is somewhat committed retaining some level of tradition, they've signed away some of their power on that front.

Be careful about sources on here...Deerpark is legit and he hasn't hinted at anything radical. People tend to get spooked and think if you sign with Nike, they'll OREGON you up...not true. Oregon had a dull color scheme and Donald Duck logo, so they dove head first into Nike's creative arms. This company hasn't made billions by getting blowback from it's customer base. They'll give Tennessee what Tennessee asks for basic scheme wise and gently suggest alternates for select games. DP has said Smokey and anthracite...no hot pink or ***hsia. :).

And so it begins.

Nike can't change how our orange looks in the sun versus the shade any better than Adidas could.

Whatevs Deerpark, this needs to be fixed ASAP. Exactly what kind of bulbs are in our stadium lights that will make our uniforms look differently at a noon game than an 8pm game? What about the jumbotron's effect on the lighting for our uniforms?

Who else is excited for the new uni's to come out instead of panicking about minor changes? Cause I can't wait to see what they look like!:) Go Vols...

I think they are going to look orange and white or white and orange and either way they will have a Nike swoosh
