Unfair comparison to Lane Kiffin

Lane Kiffin is a better coach than Pruitt. It's not even close. USC was on major probation when Kiffin was there. Tennessee should have hired Dan Mullen or Lane Kiffin when they hired Pruitt. Fulmer went the cheap route, yet again.

If trophies were handed out for yards per game lane would have a room full trophies, but I'm pretty sure the score is what matters. It's great to score 100 points a game if that's how we measure winning. But what if the other team has 101 points. Still a loss.

Well hes playing in the SEC with a Big 12 level defense. If he and his very competent DC recruit an SEC defense, then it’s going to be a problem.

When you are competitive, you have a legitimate chance of winning. When you get your ass kicked, you don't have a chance of winning. So, there's a huge difference.

I don’t think the money is why Fulmer wouldn’t hire Kiffin. He wouldn’t have hired him if Kiffin had offered to coach for free.

Your football IQ is about 1 on a scale of 10. Turn in your Vol card. I believe Pruitt is making the wrong decision on the Qb issue but we have improved at every other position and did win 8 games in a row before Georgia. Are you one of those guys who believes a coach should be fired after every loss. Kiffin is going to hang around a couple of years at Ole Miss and then be fired. As a HC, Kiffin has failed at every job except Florida Atlantic.
He was run out of town at two of them. No one would know his name if he wasn’t brash and controversial.

Kiffin had a full class of juniors and seniors then entire time he was at USC - it only affected 2 recruiting classes that were incoming freshmen and sophomores. He was left on the tarmac when it came to an end. ADs don’t leave good coaches on the tarmac. He is average at best.

But I will agree with you that we should’ve backed up the armored truck to Mullen’s front door. Imagine what he could do with JG after seeing what he is doing with Trask, the back up to Felipe Franks before he got hurt

For those who are unfairly criticizing coach Pruitt and comparing him to what Lane Kiffin is doing at Ole Miss, and how Ole Miss put up almost 700 yards and 45 points on Alabama's defense. Lane Kiffin knew all of Alabama's defensive signals. There is nothing in terms of schemes that Kiffin did.
Well Pruitt should know Kirbys signals right since they both have coached on the same staff together at some point right?

The one thing Lane has is a real QB who will be in the NFL. That kid last night was amazing Alabama should have had 5 more sacks but he escaped and delivered the ball to open WR or scrambled for positive yards. The Slot WR will also be a first round pick in the NFL. TE will be a 2nd day pick. Good RBS so yes his offense is really good. Jeremy P is short on experience since he was never a head coach at any level but he knows football and is a football junkie and we will just have to live with him as he continues to learn on the job. Rather its Staff, Game day decisions and yes how to handle a locker room I believe he will get better at each but will we have the Patience to wait.

Lane went up tempo on Bama and it seemed to get to them. I’ve always noticed Bamas D over the years looking to the sidelines to get calls etc. last night they were out of position and just looked confused at times the fast tempo offense. Ole Miss D can’t use smoke & mirrors and are a lowere level SEC defense or this may have been a Ole Miss win. It was closer than final score. Najee was a beast though.

Well, we several times threw the ball on 3rd and 1 knowing our defense was gassed and would quickly turn the ball back over to the dawgs.

I am not convinced that Chaney is above avg OC. Play calling all season has been very questionable IMO.

Nick Saban’s Alabama defenses didn’t allow 45+ points in his first 110 SEC games (2007-2019) They have now allowed 45+ in 3 of their last 6 SEC games

I agree.....it would have been nice if Pruitt had coached for Georgia and for Bama......then things would be different.

Come on......this has to be one of my best in quite a while.....and not a sole like it?

Man I’m losing my touch.

It is unfair to compare the two.

Pruitt should be way better than LK against Bama. Guess we’ll see.

Kiffin is a much better coach than he was 10 years ago. But I still don't think he will be some crazy successful head coach. Yeah he have good to great offenses most years, but that's one side of the ball. Will he be able to hire/keep someone to manage the other side for him?

Ole Miss was snapping the ball before Alabama even lined up. Saying they was stealing the signals is the dumbest excuse ive ever heard. Alabama just couldn't keep up with the speed Ole Miss was playing. But you're right its not a fair comparison given that fact JP is in year 3 and Kiffin is in year 1.
