For those who are unfairly criticizing coach Pruitt and comparing him to what Lane Kiffin is doing at Ole Miss, and how Ole Miss put up almost 700 yards and 45 points on Alabama's defense. Lane Kiffin knew all of Alabama's defensive signals. There is nothing in terms of schemes that Kiffin did.

Exactly. It’s not like Pruitt coached D under Kirby and Chaney was his offensive coordinator. Ohhh wait.....

JG still would sit there and take sacks and fumble the football if he knew every play they were running

Also, it’s a different style of football. Kiffin is running a hurry up. Good for offense, bad for defense. We aren’t building our roster for thar

Everyone needs to calm down.

Lane Kiffin is not a genius. If he was, he’d have built a power at Southern Cal and be somewhere other than Ole Miss.

A couple of weeks ago, everyone was gushing over Mike Leach and thought Costello was the best QB in the SEC and that came to a stop real damn quick.

I don’t know what the long term future is for Tennessee under Pruitt. I don’t know if he’ll bring trophies to Knoxville.

IMO, he is a pretty sure bet at this point to do what Kiffin, Dooley and Jones couldn’t and that’s leave Tennessee in a much better place than when he got it.

I agree.....it would have been nice if Pruitt had coached for Georgia and for Bama......then things would be different.

I'd want Tennessee to continue to suck too if I were a Florida fan with a defense as bad as it looks to be this year.

This is probably the worst take i have seen regarding the Kiffin comparison. Reason being is Pruitt would have more knowledge of Sabans defense scheme considering he use to be his defensive coordinator.

And Pruitt doesn’t know them?

Asinine take.

You are clueless. Football Teams change up the signs just like baseball. This was not a factor.

1)Again this is a terrible take

2)Pruitts not a terrible coach. He’s a first time coach who has made some extremely poor choices on the offensive coaching staff. He can either become Jimbo who won a Natty by recruiting at a high level and hiring a great coordinator on the side of the ball he’s NOT an expert at. Or he can be Muschamp and be a defensive genius who can’t get out of his own way on offense. Friend is definitely not the answer and I personally doubt that any defensive coordinators out there are losing too much sleep over Chaney. Hopefully he makes better hiring choices.

So it's unfair to compare when a first year coach comes to a cellar dweller team and takes Bama to the edge of their first loss. Ole Miss was a bad snap away from taking Bama to the very end. Pruitt has not even been competitive yet against any of the top teams in the league.
He was last year against bama, until jg garantanoed it. Not sure why he ever made it back on the field after that.

If trophies were handed out for yards per game lane would have a room full trophies, but I'm pretty sure the score is what matters. It's great to score 100 points a game if that's how we measure winning. But what if the other team has 101 points. Still a loss.

We knew exactly what UGA was goung to do on D. The difference in what the Rebels did against the Tide comes down to one position, QB! The Rebels QB alluded the rush and made plays, while our QB stood there like he was wearing lead shoes.

Umm, we were very competitive with Alabama last year. We beat Auburn in his first season. You all have some very short memories.

I don’t care how he did it, bottom line, 700 yards, period.......
