I need to see us play a game or two...

On paper we look ready to compete for championships...

IDK? While I'm hyped at how close we were last year. And also about how the roster has matured and gotten depth. That makes me think contender for it all.
Then, you look at the fact that we cracked the top 25 at the end of the season and have not been in the top 10 since just after the Civil War. Then 10th sounds pretty good to start.

7-10 looks good on paper, but IF UT truly improved in depth, size, speed and strength, I think they are as good as any team, I realize the past 12 years has place an air of doubt in some peoples minds, but this team as has all the talent on the field to win out. However, it will be the play calling and unforeseen injuries and turnovers that will make or break the games with with teams that have better recent success than the Vols.........jmo

We have the horses to blow people out this year, but will the game be called that way or will it be another "we're up by 2 scores, let's just run off tackle 3 times then punt"

I hope Butch realizes the importance of beating Florida. The last couple of years it didn't seem like it. I don't buy that 'they just beat us'. We had THEM beat last two years and gave it away imo...both times.

Got to get that done THIS YEAR.

Everyone knows this offense will be singing this year, but I do not believe that the rest of the country realizes the impact that Shoop will make with this experienced D.

Since it's a preseason poll it don't matter. If it's a prediction of how we finish, only 1 got it right. We will be #1 come January 10th. The real question. How great will team 120 be?

Here are the facts:

We should have won EVERY game LAST year. We should have beaten half of the play-off teams in the regular season.

We have more experience, more talent, more depth, exceptional QB play, a better 22 than ANYONE in the nation.

We lost games last year because of game day coaching. It's as simple as that. I saw Butch correcting that problem throughout the year culminating in the I-formation against Northwestern.

The time is now. We won't go undefeated - the four game stretch has too many road miles in it - but we should be ready and focused to WIN in Atlanta and with a month to prepare for the play-offs, no one will be able to stop Team 120 with that kind of rest and preparation. We will tear the play-offs a new one.

We easily could have been a play-off team LAST year. Team 120 is even better than that - actually a LOT better. There are no excuses good enough anymore. Our two deep is better than anyone else's in the nation right now. Time to win everything... everywhere... every time.

Preach on Eddie! It has been a long time (over a decade) since I have felt this excited going into a season. I doubt we go undefeated but I do expect to get half of those losses back from last year. OL improved DL upgraded and hopefully lessons learned in coaching.

Team 120 is a player led team with high expectations, they just have to prove it on the football field now...
