Underachieving Staff, Underachieving Players

Holly is not a good motivator. Players may like her personally but they do not play hard for her which means they do not respect her.

Didn't Holly mention during one of her interviews that it was not her job to motivate the players? If that is true, Holly is doing an outstanding job. :post-4-1090547912:

Moore's problem is not her mistakes its her skill set and strength against good D1 players. She cannot compete at this level.

I disagree Moore can compete at this level, The problem is Holly Cooper, DeShields, Graves, and others can turn the ball over 20 times a game and not get pulled from the game. But when Moore turns the ball over just once she heads to the bench and that`s a bunch of bull. How can she prove that she can compete at this level, When you have a coach that has no clue on how to coach. Moore and Russell should be in the game together at times. Let her play thur her mistakes she will get better.

It is shocking that there are so many basketball Experts on this board that know everything about the Lady Vols basketball team and basketball in general, yet they do not have jobs that pay them to coach the game they critique here as basketball coaches.

It is shocking that so many people criticize the food at restaurants even though they do not have jobs as chefs. It is shocking that people criticize politicians though they have never run for office. It is shocking...

You get the idea?

If you would like to discuss how the team is playing then you are in the right place. If you want to tell everyone to shut-up (which is really all you are doing by proposing criteria which one must meet before they can express an opinion) then you completely misapprehend the purpose of a message board.

I see this argument made often by people who take the opposite view of those around them, but who can't put together a coherent argument as to why those people are wrong. If you would like to make a case for why Holly is doing a great job, or why someone's proposal for fixing our problems is off base then do so. I might even agree with you. But you don't get to sneer at people whose arguments you don't even bother trying to refute. That is just bad behavior on your part and adds nothing to the discussion.

There are some who think that this is a Pollyanna board! They must have missed the turn in the road that takes them to The Summitt:) I've been paying bucks to see Tennessee sports since the mid 1960's, and, according to one poster on here, my criticism qualifies me as a "miserable person"...let me give a definition of miserable...watching a program that you love and have followed for years struggling to breathe and survive as one agonizing loss after another sucks the last breath out of a once proud and competitive team...with 7 McDonalds All-Americans who deserve a head coach who knows how to motivate and teach fundamental basketball.
