UNC vs. Duke, Who do WE cheer for?

I know it man. That Coach K is a horrible person. Always lets his players run amuck around Durham and get arrested for a number of things. Pieces of white trash, that is all Duke is. They can't even keep up good grades at that overrated school! Always getting scholarships removed because they are lazy and never go to class!

If the refs were not always on their side they would have never won three national championships. Those bastards!

I don't even care, as I said, it just isn't worth it. No point in even trying to argue over the internet. I quit.

Mods, boot me off here.

Also, I think you guys are missing out on the real importance of this week. The game is irrevelant compared to what happened to this girl.

Two completely different topics. This game has been on the books for a long time and though it is tragic that the student was killed, let's not go wrapping everything that happens on these two campuses into a nice little feel good package. They will recognize the tragedy at the game and though it is amazing how two big rivals like UNC and Duke have come together over this, the game is still important to everyone. Even more so now as it will be used as a distraction. That is the nature of sports and I am happy for it.

OBX....very nicely said & I agree with what you said...distractions are a good thing in time of a tragedy.

They stated on ESPN this AM that they would be having a moment of silence for Eve before the game.:salute:

I don't think the outcome of this lone game matters that much. This game combined with the ACC tournament is a big deal in the overall scheme of NCAA bracketology.

My advice: sit back and root for the team you like the best or root against the one you dislike the most.

I'm a Duke fan, so I'll pull for them and luckily my least favorite collegiate player is a 'heel. A few Guinness and a nap midway through the second half, and I'm good.

I saw that they had Memphis, Kansas, North Carolina/Duke, and UCLA. UCLA won by one today over Cal and only led 3 minutes of that game and only beat Stanford by one and trailing most of that game. How can you be a former #1, have beaten a # 1 on the road, currently be ranked # 4, #1 in RPI, and #2 in strength of schedule and not be a number 1 seed. I'm not saying that ESPN doesn't like us but if you showed the talking heads the resumes of the top 8 teams and took away the names beside the teams so they wouldn't know who was who, Tennessee would probably be the 2nd number 1 seed selected. This pisses me off really bad and I don't know how the committee could get away with not giving us a number 1 if we take care of business. Hell, we were a number 2 seed two years ago and we are in much, much better shape than we were then. Can someone else explain to me how we weren't mentioned as a number 1 seed and Kansas was a unanimous choice by all 4 of the heads. Look at UCLA's resume and tell me that they have proven themselves more than we have. It's a joke that we aren't on there.
