UNC basketball

I just now saw your Duke icon next to your avatar. I thought I was just arguing with a UT fan about this game. That explains it now. Nevermind. Carry on. You're right: Duke is awesome and fearless.

So you can't fight your silly argument, so you jump to this conclusion. Fantastic. Seems about right. I stick to what I said earlier, I hope my kids are never taught by you.

And also, just FYI, Pitt women's bball team made it in to Chapel Hill last night for the game tonight. Sorry the bball team you love so much is notorious for chickening out of tough road games (they otherwise don't have to schedule or play).

Spin away, spin doctors.

Lol, what a douche. You're clearly the one that is spinning away. A chartered bus told Duke they can't make it, yet you blame Duke.

I "can't fight [my] silly argument"? Even granting that point, how do you explain UNC making it to ATL during the debacle a couple weeks ago to play GT? Just admit that your Duke Blue Devils aren't as smart as their university would seem to suggest.

And as I said, I've probably already taught your kids. And they were probably glad that I did afterwards. My students tend to like me very much, thank ye.

The dude in the video made it in just fine. Anyhow, that's not my point. The fact is that Duke could have planned ahead and made it in earlier. The forecast suggested they should do so all week long. They avoided this. Maybe they simply wanted to save some money, but I figure a program like Duke has plenty to burn. It's not like they have much invested in any other sports.

Great example of immature comments. I understand your agenda and I happen to appreciate UNC basketball but you are off base with your stance. Grow up.

I resent that comment. It is misogynistic.

Let's be honest though: if the shoe was reversed, do you think UNC declines going to Duke yesterday? Be honest. Do you think they turn their back on the game for whatever reason?

Being perfectly honest, and knowing what I know about both programs and coaches, I say that UNC makes that trip to Durham. Of course, I'm a UNC fan, so I'm biased.

But admit it, you're biased too. I mean, I've been admitting I'm biased, and you've just been attacking me.

I must be in the minority here. You know, I'm obviously not one to make the argument that America is weakening and "wussifying" (in colloquial terms) but, man, when it comes to Duke bball, we must have different standards. Everyone else is wussifying; Duke, well, "They're just being smart and cautious."

No **** they're being safe and cautious: Coach K either didn't want to deal with a rabid UNC student crowd or he didn't want to "screw" up his UNC road game pregame routine by arriving an hour or two early.

And, once again, spin away, spin doctors.

You're letting your bias cloud your thinking. He's right. They made the right call.

I mean, seriously, am I the only one retroactively concerned about UNC's players in Atlanta two weeks ago, in conditions that were much worse than last night? Just admit it: K felt the adversity, and he wasn't up for the challenge. His OOC road game scheduling suggest as much.

yes because a chartered bus company told Duke Athletics they can't make the trip so this is all on K. You really are an idiot, plain and simple. This isn't about bias, this is about you being clueless.

Being in someone's class and being taught are very different. Kids who have the misfortune of being in his class are already more intelligent than he and they will not learn anything. Unfortunate that kids today are not protected from teachers similar to him with low IQs.

Not everyone has the chance to schedule those blockbuster OOC road games like UAB. :)

Friend, I appreciate the respectful input. And I want fan/teams safety as well. But account for this:

1. How did UNC play at GT a couple weeks ago?
2. Conditions were bad during Wednesday. UNC announced around 4 or 5 (I believe) that students would be getting additional sitting (in other words, the blue hairs weren't showing up). Around 6ish, Duke says they are not coming.
3. Duke's classes (as well as UNC's) let out around noon. Forecasts had been negative all week long. Why couldn't Duke take precautions?

Duke fans, you have a great tradition. I'm not arguing with that. But, fact is, you chickened out. Whether it was the inordinate student body you might be up against or the inability to do your typical pregame routine (unlike what UNC faced at GT this year), you missed out. You'll always be second-rate in the state of NC. You'll always be our number 2. In other words, you'll always be our Duke.

Because Duke had to wait on word from the chartered bus. Why is this so hard for you. The chartered bus said they couldn't make it. End of story. Quit generalizing and making crap up.

Are you serious? Like these other posters attacking me, I'm about to rip you to shreds. Are you serious?

From now on, let it be known that ye who are ignorant to UNC's scheduling are banned from posting about said university's scheduling.

In the last few years, UNC has had home-and-homes with UK and Texas. We've ventured to places like Santa Clara, UNC-Asheville, and UAB (off the top of my mind). What has Duke done in those years, OOC-wise? And no, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge does not count. UNC has also gone on the road to number one IU and number one MSU those years as opposed to playing the majority of those matchups at home.

Speechless? You better be. Mount a response to this post? I'll be sure to tear you apart.

You think the chartered bus takes precedent over Duke bball? Duke bball knew the score in advance. You're acting like the forecast jumped on them in a second.

Just admit it, you're a Duke fan. I keep asking you to admit it, and it's obvious you are, but you won't do it. Admit it, your Duke bias clouds your judgment.

Geez, these Duke fans are testy. You'd think they had their "manhood" challenged last night or something.

I don't have to admit anything. This whole board knows I'm a Duke fan.

But that doesn't matter. The chartered bus told Duke they couldn't make it. Therefore, Duke had no way of getting the team there. yeah, they take precedent over Duke basketball if the means to get to the game calls and says, "Hey, we can't do this because of the weather." This has nothing to do with respective fan bases. This is about you not understanding logistics.

And another thing, if you University of New Jersey supporters want to make a big stink: then why can't your team drive on the roads? We all know that Northerners can drive on snow-covered roads, at least that's what they always claim.

I'm trembling at the thought of an internet tough guy like yourself trying to intimidate posters by saying you'll tear them to shreds if they respond to your immature drivel. It's clear you're trying to make this a big deal so that you have an excuse when Duke beats Roy and Co.

I couldn't care less about Duke or UNC.

I understand you're probably angry with the way your team has underachieved this season. Those Belmont and UAB losses must have really stung, I'm sorry.

On top of that, Duke is clearly the much better team in the state this year so I'm sure it makes you a little over emotional. It's understandable.

I'm sure things in Chapel Hill will get better, hang in there bud.

What a bunch of pansies the Avett Brothers are. Since they can't get out of North Carolina, they are cancelling their show in Missouri. Luke Bryan cancelled his show in NC last night. Louisville cancelled their game, Charleston-Southern isn't headed just down the road from Chapel Hill to face High Point. BC and GT did cancel their game in Atlanta.

All these cancellations are clearly a cover up for Duke so they don't look so foolish.

I'm all love and peace. I'm not trying to be the Internet tough guy.

Admit it though, you'd love for FGCU to have a home game against UNC? And you know what's great about UNC, as opposed to Duke? UNC just might schedule that game at FGCU. Duke? You can forget about it, at least as long as K is there? He's a coward.

I didn't realize not scheduling a game at a mid-level mid major made one a coward? Interesting perspective

Sure, I'd love for any legendary team to come play down here. UNC isn't alone in that regard. To think there is even a remote possibility of that happening is another story.

Neither UNC or Duke is coming down here. I'm not exactly sure the point you were trying to make.

I appreciate your perspective, I really do. I just think your hate for anything Duke is clouding your thinking a little. :hi:
