UNC Basketball, Part Deux

Oh, god. Greg Paulus. Barf in a spoon.

Who's he coaching with now? I could have sworn I've seen his dumb face on some sideline somewhere. Is it Syracuse?

Paulus is an assistant at OSU, Hurley is HC at Buffalo. If we're talking up-and-comers, though, I'd keep an eye on LeVelle Moton at NC Central. He won't replace Roy, but down the road I think he'll be very relevant.

Oh, OSU. I knew it was somewhere obnoxious.

I didn't realize Hurley was even coaching. Man, I'm out of the loop.

How can Scheyer even crack a top five? 1. Laettner
2a. Hurley
2b. Wojo
4. Reddick
5. Ferry
6. Battier
7. Paulus

That's a pretty good list. For the assault alone, I would probably include Gerald Henderson. And I always hated Cherokee Parks.

Also, I kind of like Battier. Although his alien scalp always weirded me out.

Buffalo won their division last year and tied for it this year. Going into the MAC tourney as the two seed. Not a bad two year stint for Hurley up there.

Basically, name my favorites and exclude some that didn't seem to draw too much heat, ie Langdon and Collins

Yeah, I get it. Scheyer is up there, though. Such a whiner. When they show him on the bench, I keep expecting him to start whining like he did as a player!

Duke and whining are basically synonymous. Interchangeable terms.

"The other day, I got upset that life didn't completely go my way for a full two hours, so I dukied (whined) about it."

I knew people that I absolutely despised Battier and I never could figure out why. He wasn't the goofy looking white guy stereotype, he wasn't cocky and he wasn't the fired up, jumping around, slapping the floor guy either. Honestly this is the first I'm hearing much about Scheyer hatred.

Can you really hate Cherokee Parks that much? Want me to put Tamon Domalzski on the list too?

I think they showed Cherokee Parks either during GameDay or during the game itself. He looked like he's going alt these days. Shaved head, tattoos, maybe some piercings sprinkled in, and what-not. I take it he's not too interested in coaching.

I'm confused as I never thought of Parks as a coach. And he's always been an odd duck.

I really think Hurley could be the guy to return home to Duke. He's a Duke legend, a college bball legend for that matter, his dad is a HS coaching legend and his brother is doing OK for himself coaching.

I am biased though. I loved Bobby Hurley as a kid. He's why I'm a Duke fan. Legitimately, he is THE reason. My mom's trick to wake me up in the mornings as a kid was to put Sportscenter on downstairs so I would get up and come watch while getting ready for school. They were breaking the news of Hurley's car accident as I was slowly coming down the stairs. I started rushing when I heard it and literally tumbled down the stairs. I'll admit I was heartbroken.

I really did hate Cherokee Parks. It might just be me, though. And, I think you misspelled Domzalski (I might have, too).

I mean, if you're making a list of Duke players I hate, be sure to use some version of Excel after 2003, so that there are 1,048,576 lines instead of only 65,536! Shav Randolph, Josh McRoberts, Lance Thomas, Zoubec, et. al., ad. infinitum, etc...

Yeah, I took a detour from the "possible K replacement" avenue and instead went down the street of all current and former players...sorry!

And, it was a damn shame when Hurley had that accident. I don't care who you are, you feel bad for someone when something like that happens.

That being said, and since he has enjoyed continued success in his life, I would hate him with an unholy passion if he became the coach at Duke...which is probably a good reason he should be a candidate!

My phone would overheat if I tried typing out all my hated UNC players. In a way I'm thankful for Hansbrough. He flopped more than the ten biggest Duke flippers of all time combined.

And took more of a beating than the top 20 combined, and showed you what it looks like to beat an ACC teams four consecutive years in your "gym", etc. :)

This is the first? Before I got to Duke, Scheyer was my most hated player haha

Hurley needs to make the tourney before we start talking about him as Duke or UNC coach, haha.

As i said, he's been there two years and won his division both times. So, as I wrote, he's emerging as my frontrunner.

I'll help you out.

Jeff "have you driven a Ford lately?" Mcinnis, a true pos of a human being.
King Rice. Beat up,his girlfriend.
Mahktar Ndiaye. One of UNC's finest! Fabricating stories about other teams players using racist terms among other things

Kris Lang, just a general douche bag all around.

Harrison Barnes because his whole nice guy act is/was a fraud and so is his game.

Finally and Obviously #50 in your programs, #1 in your hearts, last in literacy and the inventor of Texas style ping pong
Tyyyyllllleeeeerrrr Hansbrough!

No Rasheed "Technical Foul" Wallace? I'm mightily offended.

He's in the honorable mention section. Actually he probably should be up there, he was a dick and a whiner. Kevin Salvadori is up there because he never committed a foul either. Maybe Henrik Rhodle or Dante Calabria, maybe I'm just biased against Germans and Italians because of World War II, I don't know.

You can't even hate on Calabria and his hair. That dude probably got more tail on UNC's campus than Wilt Chamberlain.

Division "titles" are overrated. I mainly just hope we get away from this stupid "within the family" requirement

True, he probably laid more pipe than Chapel Hill plumbing. We used to hate to hear all the girls talk about him in middle school.

Well, if it's any consolation, time has brought him back down to Earth a bit. That actually made me think to look him up. He's apparently coaching under Buzz at UNC-Wilmington now.
