I imagine an explanation would be lost on you as well....let's just say that some folks feel that the sooner the Vols fall completely in the ditch, the quicker they will have the chance to reach the heights we saw in the nineties.....as opposed to the slow death spiral we are experiencing the last few years.

You may just not have the expandable type, so don't strain too hard if you still don't understand.......

oh no, I think we "get" what your saying quite clearly. You want us to lose to get better. You would have us lose enough, to fall on our faces, inorder to gain either, coaches or players, or both. It makes great sense. Essentially, to put in your own frame of thinking, we should" Get all strung out on crack, fall in the ditch face first, feel like crap for a while, and then go through the rehab process." Afterall, rebuilding a program doesnt take long at all.......sure....:good!:

Well SouthGeorgiaVol must not be in your club, as he clearly doesn't understand.....but if you acknowledge that rebuilding is required, then to insinuate that it would be any faster with Fulmer, the person in charge of our "crack binge", is not rational. The longer we wait the worse things will get.....sure it's a leap to make the change - but in this case I'd rather not dance with the devil I know. For the record, I can't bring myself to root against the Vols, but I know several that can and they are just as big fans as I.......

For the record, those aren't real UT fans by any definition. Dress it up any way you like but it still doesn't make it true.

I think GA and I are pretty level headed guys that follow along quite well. Ok, rebuilding is required. You want a new coach?....read the boards pal, you are not alone. There are entire threads dedicated to that statemen/argument. Many of Vol fans have ran through those threads making their case for or against Fulmer

As for your buddies that are anti Fulmer, but pro Vol, but are looking for us to lose inorder to obtain better coaching, I wont even address. My reasoning is simple. There are plenty, and I mean plenty, of other folks that are on these boards daily to throw the "negavols" all that they can stand and more. It is quite common for a "negavol" bashing to erupt in ANY thread, so I wont touch it. Somebody else might, I dont have the patience.

The fact that we are declining seems funny to me. "The Devil" as you say has a shot still. Its small, its not a gaurentee, but its a shot at a SECCG. I have never said Fulmer is Knoxville's gift for football. I dont think he hung the moon...so dont misunderstand me here, but, the guy somehow, some way, in this screwed up season of college football has a slim chance. SECCG, Bowl game win......pheasiable. Will he probablly retire/step down? I think the general concensus thinks so. Should he, I think so. Can we let the man leave with dignity, I hope so. Vol fans want change....cool, but lets not tank so we can get change. Play the games, see what happens. Falling on your face on purppose will only lose integrity for the program. Then, my friend, who would WANT to come and coach? The argument is asinine. The method inwhich you hope to acheive your goals is asinine. The amount of time I spent addressing this is asinine, and I hope that this settles it. In short, crack is whack and so is your idea.

from BV2's rant:

If Tennessee makes it to Atlanta by some miracle, it will be the biggest upset since the Glacier beat down the Titanic!

I think I'm the only one who noticed that BV2 suffers from a lack of historical accuracy. The Titanic struck an iceberg that calved off of the North Polar sheet, not a glacier.

Who are you to say who's a fan and who isn't? Who's to say that they don't wish the absolute best for UT in the long run and are willing to sacrafice now in order for that to happen?

I'm not sure why the fact that we're "declining" (your word, not mine) is funny....funny how?

I'm having a tough time plucking points out of your post. I don't think anybody's calling for the team to tank games.....I've never read that anywhere but in your post. They simply hope that Fulmer can be replaced before it really becomes a large rebuilding process....not that we start throwing games in order for that to happen.

I can't claim the idea is mine...again, I can't bring myself to root against my alma mater - but I certainly understand why some could....and still be giant supporters of the University.

If Florida somehow lucks out and wins the East, I'll lose it, I'll be sick for a week.

The Iceberg over the Titantic wasn't an upset either. Vegas had it Iceberg -3'
