I expect extreme coaching changes, also personnel changes. More Kelly, more young guys getting reps, possibly Dormady. I don't think he burns JG's redshirt. If Butch wants to be here he will hire an OC that will run a similar offense but will change it up. Also a QB coach. If he doesn't want to be here we see minimal changes and next year will be his last year

If he even considers burning JG's redshirt at this point in the season, he should be fired immediately.

My Vandy guy is as clued in as they come, said they have heard Hurd is a major problem. Even said some on their staff talked to his high school coaches and he was a problem in high school with attitude.

If I was Hurd, I'd be *****ing too. Dude has no blocking and runs into a wall everytime he touches the ball.

Matter of fact, everyone on this offense should be questioning the staff because this offense makes no sense what so ever. It's a misdirection/read offense with no misdirection.

We've come out looking like the walking dead at the start of every game, iirc. That is the white elephant in the living room.

It's symptom of a core issue with the head coach. Exactly what that issue is IDK but it's a pattern that's so obvious it's become a joke meme in the college football ranks.

I posted this yesterday during the game but I talked to someone 3-4 weeks ago who said they know someone (and yes, this is a he said/she said post) that after Hurd scored that touchdown where we ran all the way through the endzone, he came off the field and smarted off to Jones (this came after Jones reamed him for loafing on the pop he took for going lazy on us into the endzone during the same game).

This guy said he did not play the rest of the game after that score and did not play the next game. And that Hurd has become an issue on the team.

I heard the same thing from an orthopedic rep that worked very closely with a current Vols doc. Hurd said "id like to see you win a ****ing game without me" after he scored the TD in the UGA game.

We need to win these next 4 games, we shouldn't limit how it can of should be done, by a red shirt.

Then if that really is true it is time to remove him from the team. There were reports when he was in high school that he was an absolute punk, and then there have been the stories this season about his mom's character issues around the fans. Too much smoke at this point for it to be just a made up rumor. He may very well be the Terrell Owens of the locker room.

Thinking the same thing. We've literally seen the same thing we saw last night since the opening drive of the App State game nearly 2 months ago. He likes using that word, "unacceptable", but he evidently doesn't know what it means, because sloppy, undisciplined football has been accepted by him all season long.

What's so surprising to me is, I felt like his first 3 years among the few things we did really well were playing disciplined football with few flags.

We did. I remember in the first half, hell maybe the first quarter last night, they flashed a graphic that said 6 penalties for 60 yards. We used to average that a game maybe.

I think whatever changes we see come post the UF/Arky game. It would make sense, right? I mean we needed another UF loss regardless. And we all looked at LSU as that loss.

But Arky does have a chance to beat UF. If they did, I for one would not be shocked. Then we are right back where we were before the SC game even started: eyes on the Tigers.

So before we start jerking redshirts off players and combing the streets for walk-ons, let's just see what that one game brings. If UF wins, then yes - taking more chances makes sense.
Hogs have a decent shot at beating the gators. The gators still have a less than stellar offense even with Del Rio on the field.

Butch is pissed and I think he should be

Well, should he be pissed? I don't know, but I think the bulk (95%) of Vol Nation is pissed at Butch, as they should be. We can see things that appears the coaches can't see or fail to do anything about it. I still think Butch is too stubborn to admit that Dobbs can't throw down field and he is going to live & die with Dobbs. Please tell me how much worse it could be with Dormady. If the receivers can catch at least he can put the ball where they have a chance of catching it.

He should be. He hired an OC with no business being here and now he's getting @$$ raped by the fan base. We intend to hold him accountable for all the bad decisions many on here railed against when they were made. 102,455 fans plus another million watching at home can't all be wrong and one guy be right. Don't care if HC is in front of his name.

Who, though?

Sutton is out.
Maybin is out.
Kamara is out.
Barnett is a monster of the gridiron every week.
Hurd?
Dobbs?

they way Hurd is playing this year he will be lucky to get drafted in a late round.

NFL will be a deep RB draft this year.

Hurd is not even top 10 in the nation they way he is playing. Its sad though he could've been top 10 easily. I think when he got lit up at UGA. he is still shell shocked. I bet he has never gotten hit like that. & he did a have this "title" coming out of high school of being soft if he gets hit. Maybe he is just scared now.

I saw another thread that cherry picked CBJs comment that there was "no need to panic" which came after he blasted his team, his coaches and himself for an overall piss poor performance. I thought it muscharacterized his attitude and message. Some of y'all should really read articles and not headlines

I welcome the ass chewing because I think the players reflect the coaches fire. When you read the player post game comments they are still talking about injuries and their lost teammates and how hard it is. Suck it up.

Jones sent a pretty clear message
- Injuries aren't an excuse versus the talent we are playing
- There needs to be on field leadership
- He won't put up with lethargy
- He knows his seat is hot

I translate it to mean that Kelly will be playing more and Dobbs may not finish the year as a starter. I also forecast a Mike Debord departure this year. But most worrisome is that I think Butch has a team of talented individuals focused more in staying healthy before the NFL combine.

For the RBs - I kind of get it as this team and scheme put them at risk.

For everyone else - no excuses. Dobbs has made decisions and throws this year that he has never made in his career. He isn't reading defenses. I personally think next years starter is being redshirted and that Dormandy shouldn't start. Our best QB is JG. Besides Jennings our WR and TEs are playing mediocre at best. Our safeties and CBs playing awful. Maybe Sutton can juice them back up.

My comments weren't cherry picked. It was an accurate representation of the overall tenor of his comments. Yes Butch did say responsibility needs to be "owned", but is simply platitudes. He went on to say there was "no need to panic" and that there was "mark my words" a lot of football left to play.

You can say whatever you want, but there clearly has not been a sense of urgency to address what ails this football team. If that's OK with you, so be it.

I like John Kelly, he's a strong tough runner. But make him the feature back and have him take the punishment Hurd has, I would bet against him having the same stats as Hurd as well as him(Kelly) lasting a full season. That's how I see it.

Jones get paid a lot of money to get the team ready to play week in and week out...

Vanderbilt football personnel told me they have heard ut is dealing with chemistry problems due to Hurd. Doesn't mean it's true, but I'm sure they have inside info to at least some stuff. Lots of personnel guys move from job to job inside the SEC and they remain friends with people they used to work with.

This is just my opinion, but looking into Hurd's eyes and facial expressions, he's just going through the motions. It's like he doesn't want to be out there.
