The leadership of the Ministry of Defense has learned that, from 2 to 5 a.m. in the morning on the night from February 28 to March 1, 2014, radical forces plan to carry out illegal activities, namely, to enter the military bases in Crimea and disarm personnel.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine warns against committing criminal actions and officially reports: in the case these actions are carried out, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will act in accordance with the laws of Ukraine and the Regulations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Agreed. I'm not interested in getting into a war with an administration that doesn't like winning and is more interested in handing out participation trophies

She must be an incredibly intelligent human being. A true pity she isn't our VP. But hey, she may very well end up our Prez one day. As much as folks like to joke about Obama becoming the president (and he sucks, make no mistake), would it really surprise anyone if the US were to vote Palin in one day as the first female prez? Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

God only knows what his response would have been. Had Russia farted, he probably would have presented some pseudo-case before the UN concerning how Russia had chemical weapons capabilities that would directly target innocent countries. Then we'd go to war and have 100,000 something odd deaths that would have never occurred to begin with.

But I still blame Obama.

I agree with you. Obama is accountable, and he is not a good president.

Just a question for you though: did you support Bush? And did you support the war in Iraq?

I think most of us recognize the legitimacy of the war in Afghanistan. That's not at issue here.

I don't think we're going to have to worry about our military involvement. Whether or not it's hypocritical on our part, Russia is a whole different ballgame, and we aren't going to risk another full-scale war (if not even another world war). Ukraine is on its own as far as military matters go.

Here's what we can and may very well do though: economic sanctions against Russia. Freezing of the Ukrainian oligarchs assets, unless they choose to help bailout the country. A renewed commitment to installing missile batteries in Eastern Europe, particularly the Czech Republic.

Sen. McCain posited these measures in an interview with BBC today.
