Some updates:

* President Yanukovych has been impeached but refusing to step down. Calling it a coup and the opposition Nazis.
* Opposition leader, Yulia Tymoshenko, has also been freed from prison.
* Police have stopped guarding Presidential buildings and protesters are moving into them.
* Allies of Yanukovych have been attempting to enter Russia but being stopped at the border as has Yanukovych according to some reports.
* Apparently there are now whispers of separatism for the Russian leaning East to leave the Ukraine but nothing conclusive yet.

I've stopped using American media years ago.

From the way I took it, it was land granted to the Ukraine.

Yeah, the map looks more like the current boundaries of the Ukraine. But I'm too lazy to actually look it up.

And the idea that Russia "granted" land to the Ukraine is about like us granting land to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Phillipines, hell, all of the contiguous states. Just silly.

Yea, I embedded with French troops in Mali, but I prefer not being stuck only covering one side of something.

Part idealism and part crazy I guess. Don't know what initially sparked my interest, but it's what I always wanted to do. It's exciting watching history happen in front of you.

Dmitry Medvedev said the protesters has undertaken "armed mutiny" against the state and the Russian foreign ministry said ethnic Russians face suppression by the new regime. Moscow has also recalled its ambassador to the Ukraine as well. Sounds like Putin is turning up the talking points. The BBC is also reporting that Yanukovych is in the Crimea now as well.
