Russia will never give that peninsula up to the US/NATO! Ever..
Mr. Putins war in Ukraine has brought death and mayhem to Ukraine, and sanctions, political isolation and an economic downturn to Russia. It has also brought instability to the vast swath of territory that runs from the Donetsk and Luhansk statelets of Ukraine to Russias Rostov and Krasnodar regions, linking up with the Caucasus. Mr. Putins war in Ukraine, in other words, is slipping out of his control.
Speaking at a news conference on June 5, a day after warning of a "colossal threat" of the resumption of full-scale fighting with Russian-backed rebels in his annual state-of-the-nation address, Poroshenko said that "every day and every moment, we will do everything to return Crimea to Ukraine."

Lots of bad light to be cast...
Monitoring the Canadian threat.
Russian ships track HMCS Fredericton carrying Stephen Harper - Politics - CBC News
What?!?
his statement was framed under the consideration of the EU/NATO neither of which Ukraine is part of.
Regardless of where the media comes from, Kerry is right. Ukraine would be a fool to think of trying to take back the Crimea.

The Russians were working with NATO, OMG!!!!! The CIA is good. The ship was in the midst of a yearly NATO training exercise, in which Russia was a participant until two years ago, when they backed rebels in Ukraine and annexed Crimea.
Pacer and Ras put your helmets on so when your brains explode it doesn't make a mess.

from the ship link above.
You were talking about Ukraine taking back Crimea, Ukraine isnt in the EU/NATO so it has nothing to do with the EU/NATO taking Crimea as you put.
I said the US/NATO, which is one in the same.
America(NATO) thought that by funding/promoting a coup in Ukraine would give them access to the Crimea. That was the whole plan.
The Crimea, Sevastopol and the Black Sea naval port is a strategic asset to the Russians. It will never be allowed to fall into western hands.
uhm what? why? we already have a port in that sea. and the only reason we do is because Russia has one in a foreign nation too (used to be foreign nation/still is depending on your view of a 97% election)and the agreement Ukraine has/had with Russia on the usage of that port was going to go on for a long time, and that is independent of ruler. and at the time of the coup there was no talk of Ukraine to NATO. there was talk and popular support of Ukraine to EU. everything about this coup has lead to the benefit of Russia.
-No Ukraine to the EU or NATO
-Direct control of port/Crimea
-Consolidation of Putin's power inside of Russia
-Weaker Ukraine w/ Russian thousands of troops/volunteers occupying land
-Semi autonomous regions that now "sell" directly to Russia so the Russians can sell it (coal) back to Ukraine.
-more expensive gas deal (more money and weaker Ukraine)
and what has the US gotten?
-300 training troops in western Ukraine
-We got rid of some defensive stuff and aid
-We got a "puppet" who doesn't like us

Yes, Russia has been the winner and US the loser to this point despite being attacked on many fronts(NATO encroachment, sanctions and media Russophobia).
A direct reflection of the leadership of these two countries.
