Considering how much European borders changed in the prior 50 year period I'd say these guys probably had one of the more reliable professions. Even for the next 50 they had their work cut out for them.

I've tasted some of the organs harvested from ethnic Russians in Ukraine that were shipped to the US, and they were mighty tasty.

The supply has been a little low as of late.

I think it was on one of the Vice videos that said that troops near the front are just chilling out, waiting for the war to resume. #Ceasefire

I saw whole families holed up in fully decorated Soviet-era bomb shelters too afraid to go out even by daylight, traumatized by the bombings orchestrated by Kiev’s “anti-terrorist operations”.

I saw a modern, hard-working industrial city at least half-empty and partially destroyed but not bent, able to survive by their guts and guile with a little help from Russian humanitarian convoys.

I saw beautiful girls hangin’ out by Lenin’s statue in a central square lamenting their only shot at fun was family parties in each other’s houses because nightlife was dead and “we’re at war”.

I did not see, as Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe international observers also didn’t, the rows and rows of Russian tanks and soldiers that the current Dr. Strangelove in charge of NATO, General Breedhate, sees everyday in his exalted dreams invading Ukraine over and over again.

And I did not see the arrogance, the ignorance, the shamelessness and the lies distorting those manicured faces in Kiev, Washington and Brussels while they insist, over and over again, that the entire population of Donbass, traumatized babushkas and children of all ages included, are nothing but “terra-rists”.

the article does a good job of showing how war has affected those caught by it, i have word you Ras that same thing is happening on the other side of the line too. it also doesn't talk about any great support of Donetsk by the freedom loving people. thanks for the article, keep digging your grave.

No one cares about foreign policy in this place (VolNation).

This thread is one of the only places people kind of discuss it. Greece, Iran, China . . . mostly crickets. Pretty big stories elsewhere.

i tried to have a China thread going elsewhere but wasn't much discussion.

iran has been going on so long that the American populace has been dulled to sleep

Greece there has been no violence for people to care about.

borders start moving on those topics and you will see discussion.

You shall build a thread. It will be called "China Thread."

If you build it, they will come.

They, as in mostly just Velo, Ras, Pacer, Grand Vol, Red, and myself. Basically just the main participants of this thread.

Speaking of China, I heard some critics argue we should join their new bank. And they've asked for the Yuan to serve as a world reserve currency alongside the dollar.

I'm sure it's a very small minority of Europeans that feel this way (more RT sensationalism), but, should it ever end up being a majority, I wouldn't mind us pulling our military support, bases, and NATO membership. And here would be the only two possible outcomes of such a move:

1. The Good: European nations now learn they actually have no militaries and need to spend money on them, thereby taking money out of the state coffers that the people have been enjoying all these post-WWII/post-Cold War years. In other words, Europe looks more and more like Greece.

2. The Bad: Russia decides to make Europe its slave. Not through military attack, mind you, at least not an attack on Europe proper. Russia knows that would still trigger an American response, regardless of NATO affiliation. But it would make Europe its little energy/economic slave, which, quite frankly it was already becoming before this crisis put a halt to it. (Don't tell Ras - he still thinks Europe is America's slave or something like that.)

Either way, pretty ****ty. The ingrate swine should be grateful for what we've always done for them over there and for what we continue to do for them. Just because a few American tanks/apcs and soldiers are seen near your town ever so often doesn't mean you're somehow subject to warmongering. I mean, honestly, how many Europeans have died in the Middle East/Central Asia over the last decade or more? 5? I bet more have died just this year fighting for ISIS than with any American led coalition over there.
