You mean like in Ukraine now? There were just under 20K Russian troops already there. There were Russian naval forces through legally leased bases there. Please tell me you are not that stupid to believe Putin's lies on that. And please tell me where imaginary boogeymen nowhere in the region could have pulled that off. And while we are at it please tell me how this imaginary threat justifies him going against his own word as well as numerous world treaties that prohibit such behavior.

You see this is what gets me with you and Ras. The behavior you despise so much from the US you have absolutely no problem with from fascist thugs like Putin. If I flipped the logic with Russia all over the place with all of your grocery list of nations there would you still feel the same way? Doubt it.

If the Ukraine decided it was in their interests to allow US or NATO presence in the Crimea, this concerns Russia how?

Talking about the wars and unrest during the 1990s that lead to the unofficial independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. More to the point though Putin has concluded treaties with both "independent republics" that more or less officially annexes them into the Russian Federation.

So the Muslims in Bosnia that were being wiped out was only propaganda? You are telling me the Serbs were not actively engaged in any cleansing methods?

True, but the Russian "invasion" of that area was very likely brought on by the Georgians themselves.

South Ossetia is one of those really murky conflicts that really doesn't have a right or wrong party. Sure, Russia didn't want NATO anywhere near Georgia. But then again, Georgia was being awfully aggressive in that area towards the Russians.

Both sides were equally at fault.

Oh and I'm not sure how I forgot about Nagorno-Karabakh either. Funny that Russia has a hand in all these "independence" movements in the former Soviet bloc isn't it?

I don't fault them though. Both occupied provinces are Georgian territory propped up by the Russian Army.
