Source, trustworthy, told The Insider on the information available to it that President Vladimir Putin has cancer, and his long absence from the public in recent years may be due to the deterioration of health. No details about the stage of cancer and specifics of the source is unknown.

According to the same source murder Boris Nemtsov associated with the struggle within the elite associated with the deteriorating health of the president, but this information is only a hypothesis source.

Just had three different friends in Ukraine (one in government) tell me they are nervous about this whole story. No one knows if this is just typical rumor mongering or if it is true. But the fear is that if this is true, DNR/LNR and the Russian military backing them will not waste time and use any confusion to attack. If Putin is well but laying low, he is raising alarms and concern that is spreading in the region.

I am more worried about the Russian army becoming confused and "let loose" in E. Ukraine going on a rampage more than a guided attack.

I've read that Putin is a pretty paranoid person. If something is happening, and Putin survives it, the increased paranoia will not be pretty.

I've seen two sources that mentioned this thinking - with all the crap that came out about Nemtsov and the Chechens, Kadyrov's whining, and even the nationalists like Dugin and Girkin complaining this very well could be a little test of who stands where. I'm more inclined to think this would be more for the oligarchs behind the scenes and running certain government sectors. They are the ones who have suffered the most from the sanctions. Girkin even mentioned these guys as actually being pro-Western and 5th column. This very well could be a modern version of Stalin's 30's purges.

Like I mentioned earlier, I think Ukraine has to be concerned. When there are questions and doubts, the fools tend to get antsy and cause confusion. The DNR/LNR and their backers could very well get froggy as well in all this.

Scary times.

You think it'll be Medvedev? I heard he and Putin has had a falling out.

Unless he is just a figurehead for someone wanting to be behind the scenes....no. That was more a joke than anything. Dima is too weak and passive. He got a little too bold toward the end of his term but Vlad put him back in his place.
