Ukraine Protests

That's funny.

Every now and then I attempt to listen to an interview with a current or former player. We're not talking just freshmen here--people who have been at UT several years. It's quite an ordeal.

Do tutors or someone teach them how to keep repeating the same phrases? One guy started every other sentence with "it's like . . ."

Oh well.

The majority of them shouldn't be in college to begin with, if that helps clarify matters.

Earlier on Twitter I was seeing chatter about another Russian incursion at the same time a convoy deal between Russia and Ukraine was being announced.

What a weird developing situation.

Ukrainian border guards and journalists were allowed to inspect the convoy yesterday. That's where we got all the pictures from of the empty trucks.

Just the night before, however, is when the Russian military convoy was reported to have gone in and was destroyed apparently.

Ras is never going to admitted that Russia has already invaded. He just ignores it here and posts some of the same stuff he has said about how all the world's problems are our fault. And that we have no friends and the Russians are the saviors the world needs from us Zionists. ( did I miss anything Ras?)

Every May 9th, Ras gets out the bottle of lotion and the box of tissues to sit down and watch the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on RT.

Those "fascists" got less than 5% of the vote in the Presidential election :whistling:

I assume you're talking about the Svoboda party. They sure did turn that 5% into influential appointments lol. Imagine this conversation in the US.

Advisor: Mr. President, the skinheads are a vocal 5% minority that will expect political appointments for giving you their support in the last election

President: Let's give them the Pentagon, CIA, DOJ, and Treasury. That should appease them.

Yeah, that was assured to end well. Hell, Hitler at least had to get 30% of the vote before he took over Germany.

If it helps, Putin is a textbook fascist and has full control of Russia.

20committee reporting that Ukrainian SBU has released phone intercepts of "rebels" discussing their involvement in the killing of civilians in eastern Ukraine.

Unfortunately, Victoria Nuland wasn't involved in these conversations, so I guess we can't take them seriously then.

You realize you're causing someone's head to melt with that last statement?

Was it confirmed that it was as your double quoted "rebels"? And what did they say about their involvement? Did they claim responsibility for it or are we being lead to believe they are at fault?

They acted like it was accidental, but took an "oh well" attitude since, as they claimed, everyone thinks the Ukrainians were responsible anyhow.

Kind of odd how Donetsk and Luhansk have seen their most intense fighting to date, yet this has all been peripheral at best with all the other mess going on.

I haven't read this particular article yet, but I will get around to it. Just as a sidenote, I was thinking earlier how odd it is that Russia went from a communist country to a fascist country (although nothing quite on the scale of 1930s Germany) in only a little over a decade, with some sort of weird quasi-democracy nebulous in between. It's like the entire gamut of the political spectrum has been felt by that country in a span of roughly 15 years or so. No wonder they're so damn crazy and riled right now. I doubt there's many places on Earth that can say the same, although Hungary sounds like it could be the next candidate.
