Ukraine Protests

Also the naivety of reporters on Twitter saying Putin and the Kremlin are wanting out of this mess is crazy to read.

Reporters were allowed to look at the convoy and most trucks were empty, where is the damn aid? Also today is Polish Armed Force Day and the Poles had one of their biggest military parades in Warsaw, with most pundits agreeing that it was likely a show of force against Moscow. This is what the Russian embassy in Warsaw got see this morning;

Russian Victory Day Parade let out a brief cackle. But, to your point, yes, it's clear that Poland is sending a message that it will not be intimidated by Moscow.

Poland seems to be one of the last European states that takes security and military spending seriously. They also fully understand that they are the likely going to be the front-line NATO state against any future Russian aggression. I don't fault the Poles for investing more in there military, after being occupied by both Germany and Russia for decades who can blame them.

You're right. The only EU/NATO states that actually seem to give a real damn about defense are Poland, the UK, and France (although France seems a bit torn). The rest of them are just a bunch of damned moochers, who are relying upon the US, namely, to defend them in the event of a foreign attack. My feelings are, if NATO membership specifies you spend at least 2.0 % of your GDP on defense, then you had best do it. Maybe a 3 year probationary period to do so, but, if you can't after that, then get the hell out!

And not that I'm suggesting we do it, because it would serve no strategic or practical aims, but the nation of Georgia would probably put the rest of NATO to shame. They'd actually be a good partner, because they realize the threat.

Ukrainian forces have completed the encirclement of Luhansk which was the second to last major rebel held city along with Donetsk. This was also one of the cities the "aid" convoy was supposed to reach, the Russians will now have to fight there way in if they want to.

BREAKING 50 #Ukraine tanks and 400 Aidar infantry stormed from #Luhansk airport,captured #Novosvitlivka & #Luhansk hospital(NAF wounded r)

IT'S GO BIG OR GO HOME time for #Russia. #Ukraine sealed #Luhansk with a large tank force. Small mech units won't due for #aidconvoy anymore

I still have no clue what his end goal is.

You've just put your finger on it... what could possibly be his endgame (assuming you believe the propaganda)? Or, maybe he isn't the one with the motive to create a conflict, but it actually the Ukrainians and their western handlers.

Just by you asking that simple question about motive should indicate that maybe the narrative is incorrect.

why would they send an empty truck to another country under the guise of 'aid'? To bring something back in it. The real question is 'what is mighty Russia planning in stealing from the Ukraine and shipping back in these empty trucks?" a war torn, impoverished country should have nothing for Putin to steal...right?

yeah Ukraine made the Russians invade them with troop carriers...... and position thousands of troops within spitting distance of the border.

the end game could be anything. It could just be to remake the soviet empire, maybe just recapture ukraine and call it a day. maybe its conquer all of Europe. It could even be as benign as making sure the civil unrest in another bordering country doesn't flow over into his country, because there was so much unrest in Chimera too. at the end of the day with Putin, and most world leaders the end goal is power and they don't care how they get it. Putin is just more willing to act out in the open than most of his counterparts.

dude seriously Russia openly invaded, they aren't the good guys here.

I've read about that,but didn't know if there was any truth to it.

Think about it and not too hard. There isn't. How in the **** would an air traffic controller know a Ukrainian military jet in the sky, unless said pilot reported in. And, if what Rasputin is implying to be true were the case, said pilot(s) would not have reported in.

Biggest bunch of nonsense I've ever heard.

I would handle you a shovel, but you're doing a hell of a job digging your grave in this thread as it is. You obviously chose to elide my post in response to voleva, a post which made complete sense.

Wrong. Russia has everything to steal from Ukraine, and it starts with about, roughly, 25,000 more sq miles of its land.

Putin's endgame is one of the following;

A - Annex the entire country (Will prove costly)
B - Annex the Russian speaking east (Will be less costly but still taxing)
C - Create a new "frozen" conflict in order to keep Ukraine divide for long-term (Probably the "best" strategy for the Kremlin)
D - Have "Novorossiya" become the new Abkhazia, South Ossetia, & Transnistria where they are nominally "independent" countries but will have Russian "peacekeepers" there to maintain "law & order" and citizens receive Russian citizenship/passports(Again probably another "good plan")
E - Finally this a combination of option B in which he takes over portions of the Ukraine in order to create a Russian land bridge with Transnistria so they can rejoin Mother Russia.

Ukrainian arms industry is pretty big believe or not. Plus a lot of Soviet era factories and such are in the east.

Dude, the BBC showed one (1) truck like that. But based off of that, we can now speculate? Trust me, if there were really a bunch of empty trucks there, the BBC would have gleefully exposed them. But instead, all they showed was 2 trucks, and even then, it was filled to the roof with water. So what is really going on?

There are multiple news agencies reporting that the trucks are not full of supplies.

Like I said earlier in this thread, if someone amassed a bunch of troops in Memphis, is that within spitting distance of the North Carolina border?

There's no reason to yell at me. You big meanie

id bet my left nut that Ukraine didnt ask Putin for any aid. Id tell em to turn the rucks around and stay the hell out of my country. Of course without US boots on the ground they are scared to stand up for themselves, or do anything really, out of fear that Putinwill go ahead and roll the T72s across the border and annex the whole country. So glad us dumbass warhawk conswrvatives spend so much on defense...we dont have to worry about any aggression from our neighbors, or anyone else for that matter save cowardly terrorists.
