Being so close to the border, it makes one wonder if the attack come from the other side. But I've seen no noteworthy reporting that it did.

That was my initial impression as well after seeing those photos but, yeah, I haven't seen any evidence (or even suggestion) that this may be the case.

I've actually thought about this before, but have always forgotten to post it. Watching the World Cup final has reminded me though: I wonder how much World Cup 2018 is affecting this situation as well. Russia will be hosting. If Russia were to just go adventuring into Ukraine, it could affect its status as host nation.

And you better bet your sweet ass that Putin would love to have him a World Cup to show off himself and "his" country. It will be the biggest bunch of patriotic bull**** you've ever seen in your life.

Just food for thought.

It prevented him from acting in Ukraine sooner because the Western forces strategically scheduled the coup to coincide with the Sochi Olympics... just hoping to draw Putin in with all eyes already on Russia.

I can see the pictures of Putin blocking a shot as Russia's goalie. I'm not sure if they'll photoshop just his head, or his whole body.
