Never had to swallow my pride, so no. But I know what one smells like so I could imagine the taste wouldn't be that good. Of course the garbage that comes out of liberal's mouths is just as foul, so by extrapolation, it should be about equal.

(in before the TWSS about the smell comment)

You must be one hellavman.

An attack on the Ukraine changes the dynamic, dramatically.

I don't honestly know what we would do about it. I mean, I don't believe we have any sort of mutual defense arrangement with them and they aren't in NATO.

the nuclear disarmament agreement...we assured them of their safety, so did Russia.

And you'd be dead wrong. The Crimean situation/dispute has been going on for centuries.

Not really, only since the death of the USSR. Since the 13th century the Ukraine had been an unquestioned part of Russia(it was also part of the Polish Empire in the 17th century and the Crimea was once part of the Ottoman Empire).

Turkey Scrambled 8 F-16 Fighter Jets To Track Russian Plane
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/04/2014 - 08:35
In a brief statement this morning, Turkish military authorities have admitted that:

*EIGHT TURKISH F-16 JETS TRACKED RUSSIAN PLANE IN BLACK SEA
*TURKEY SCRAMBLED F-16'S YDAY AS RUSSIAN PLANE NEARED BORDER
Which appears odd given this was a "military exercise" that we are sure the Russians had cleared with neighboring nations that it would be entering their airspace. The Turkish air force has been busy recently following the failed 'drunk' Sochi hijacking and Syrian intercepts.

Because the President of the Ukraine who was forced to leave office was a friend of Putin's

This is part of it.

Putins buddy was honoring the agreement over Crimea. The new president was not and was not going to pay Russia for the natural gas it currently owes on.

There is a huge amount of propaganda going on. Ukraines' people are uniting. Not dividing like they are trying to show.

If Putin invades, the US has a obligation to defend them ( Ukraine). China seems to be backing Russia. This could get real nasty. Real quick. Putin is already threatening the US to stop using the dollar as well.

They've been trading it back and forth for awhile now, though, haven't they? I mean literally trading.

Do you have any idea why this is happening right now?

Yes, the Russian puppet got ousted by the Ukrainians and taking back Crimea serves three purposes: 1) it is a warning to any other Ukrainian anti-Russians that Russia will still protect its interests there; 2) it provides a potential path to re-taking control of the Ukrainian government; and 3) it secures Russia's previous military posts and ports in Crimea.

14:38: Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier denied that troops surrounding bases in Crimea were Russian, instead he said they were "pro-Russian self-defence forces". But the BBC's Mark Lowen and his team managed to speak to one of the heavily armed soldiers blockading the military base in the town of Bakhchisarai, central Crimea, yesterday, who said he was a Russian soldier "usually based in Sevastopol".

14:39: Asked whether he thought it was right that Russian soldiers were barricading troops of the Ukrainian army in sovereign military bases of the Republic of Ukraine, the soldier said: "If you ask me as a person, then no it's not right. But I'm following orders."
