The issue here for me is the extent to which this presents grief for the orchestra. If her concert was going to generate a large protest outside, that's a problem. But it's not apparent to me how much people were really worked up over this.

Honestly I don't know. and this is the Toronto Orchestra so its not America, so i am even more out of the loop there. Unless she said some real bad stuff against individuals (death threats, "so and so should die", "wouldn't it be great if everyone in Kiev died") type of things I don't think she should have been pulled. mostly what i have heard about her is just talking politics and so is no ones business.

eh, the only people going are probably the snobby rich so i doubt there will be much of a protest. however i didn't know Canada had a significant Ukrainian population before this.

Yes, God thread has always been the preeminent existential threat to our thread's sovereignty.

This is why I am now formally proposing we build a thread defense shield to protect us from God thread's advances. I am also asking that we move more forces into Ukraine thread to act as a powerful message to God thread's encroachment.

We should also annex the Russia hacked the White House thread... Since everyone in that thread shares ethnicity with the Ukraine thread.

I didn't dig up her work, but I understand that some of her posts are vulgar, in addition to being anti-Kyiv. That doesn't help

Yes. I don't know how much around Toronto, but towns in the plains (Alberta, Saskatchewan) have significant numbers from a wave on immigration ~1900. My mom's ancestors were part of it.

i believe that some of the posters in the Russian Sanctions thread need to break off and form a semi-autonomous thread that is more closely aligned to the Ukrainian Thread. The Sanctions thread will likely put up a fight but luckily their founder (Ras) has very close ties already to the Ukrainian Thread.

It's not a free speech issue in the legal sense. Rather a PR issue for the orchestra.

What makes it more difficult was she wasn't just tweeting an anti-Kyiv statements, she tweeted vulgar nonsense (e.g., Ukrainians wanting to gas Russians in camps).

Right or wrong, you've got to expect blow back when you do that.

No one is naive enough to think that the US/Kiev aren't using these nazis to keep poking the hornets nest.

Ukrainian internal discussion of joining NATO heating back up again. Hope we don't allow it. Just no point to it.

Anyhow, you would think that at some point after witnessing nearly every country (save a few) within your former sphere, not the least of which your "brother nation," turn against you you would stop to actually think, "Wait. Maybe we and our crazy ass leader and our crazy ass rhetoric about nuking everyone are the real problems here?"

If only just for a second or two?

these aren't accusations these are "Rebel" troops saying that they are getting ready to go on the offensive. and I don't support Azov I hope they get there final victory berlin style.

I will agree that there is a small majority of eastern Ukrainians that are in the DNR and LNR but the majority are foreign mercs and Russian "volunteers." the fact the Russian equipment that's not even been exported to other countries is all the proof I need that the Russian military is involved.

The article makes the claim that an offensive is coming bc they have a hunch....nothing else! It's the same ole stuff..
