UK is a dangerous game.

Stop.

I never said Levis is better than Hooker. He is in fact a highly rated NFL draft prospect though and easily the most physical gifted QB we will see besides Bryce Young and Pitt's Slovis.

Our secondary made AR and Florida's passing game look elite ffs. LSU 's as well.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think Levis can put up over 400 yards on us by himself. Our secondary is god awful but anchored by an elite dline and good linebackers.
I think this is gonna be a great game!! I hope it's a night game, Kentucky is a good team and with us having Georgia the following week...it's gonna be fun

That may be true.. but what does that have to do with us respecting Kentucky as a team that could give us trouble if we don’t come ready?
Someone said uk is better than Pitt. I don't know that I agree with that but my point is you can't compare the Tennessee team that struggled on offense against Pitt and the team that just beat Alabama. They're 2 different levels. Kentucky will give us their best game. Their season is already a bust and their only saving grace is spoiling ours but I don't think the players will overlook Kentucky. They didn't overlook Akron. They didn't overlook LSU. They will be ready to blow the doors off of Kentucky on the 29th

Usually a trap game, but CJH and this time seem to be pretty good at staying focused on the task at hand and taking care of business. In other years I would say definitely a trap game, but I'm not worried about this team overlooking anyone. And if they are looking ahead, at least they have UTM this week. Maybe they struggle in the first quarter so they can snap out of it and remember they still have half a season to go before the Kentucky/Georgia gauntlet. IMO at this point anything less than 10-2 is a disappointment with a realistic shot at 12-0.

UF's defense is below par for the SEC. The offense is erratic. That state of affairs is EXACTLY what everyone expected. So, not disappointed.

On the flip side I'd say that UT is playing well above expectations. Not so much defensively. Clearly the weak spot but that is also not a surprise. Offensively you are simply much better than expected. Expectations were high, to be sure, but I imagine everyone would agree that this year's UT offense is substantially better than expected, even then.

If we are talking the future, I think if you are honest you recognize just how absolutely critical Hooker is to all of this. He reminds me of Mahomes and in fact I'd say he means as much to your team as Mahomes means to KC.

He's a special player. Certainly I think has to be mentioned at top of Heisman list.

Who do you think made him a special player? None of the UCF QBs were anything until Huepel got hold of them. I’d say the same for Drew Lock. Hooker is awesome, and the next QB will be as well. The QB factory worker s open and producing in Knoxville.

This staff and team is different. Would be shocked if we overlook UK.

UK is no better than they were last year and we have improved. That's all you need to know about this game.

You'd have to think that Heupel would make sure we don't overlook a team coached by a Stoops, seeing as he was fired by a Stoops who was protecting another Stoops brother at the time.

I’m glad we face cats before bulldogs…. will test team before an important road game in Athens. Go VOLS!

This is a dangerous game. We can't afford to drop any games in SEC play. They controlled the ball against us last year and wasn't a game that we should have won. Jump on em early and don't turnover the ball and we can embarrass em

They are a ranked team with pretty good defense and a good offense with Levis. They also have a bye week before TN week. They just beat a ranked Miss State team too. It would be easy for this team to look ahead to UGA and lay an egg against UK.

Just my thoughts.
When the vols beat them they will be nobody and people will continue to say we haven't played anyone.

Their DBs are better.
No they aren't. On what POSSIBLE basis are you making that comment?

One difference is that Bama plays a lot of man while UK is predominantly zone (to mask their relative lack of talent).

PS- Loved your pre-LSU comments though.... Great insights.

Kentucky is a solid football team. They have a nice running attack but our defense has proven to be able to stop the run game effectively each week.

Kentucky will likely hit a few passes and they will score some points. Maybe even 21 of them.

I just don’t think they can keep up with our offense the whole game. I think we beat them 40 something to 21.

Tennessee vs Kentucky is a dangerous game for.......................................................................................Kentucky

Well.. Pitt took us to overtime and UK is better than Pitt. Florida was in the game until the last drive … UK beat Florida.. Gotta give us more than half a season before we don’t worry about other teams.
It’s not necessarily a knock on how good we think we are- more of being realistic that even great teams fall all the time.

Has UK played Pitt? No. So your first sentence is conjecture. Has UK beaten anyway ne close to LSU or Bama? No.

Class dismissed.

Laugh if you want but you can throw stats out the window in some games. Kentucky has had this date circled all year. Beating Tennessee makes their season a success regardless of how lack luster it’s been to this point. This is just another game to us but it’s the game they’ve prepared for all year.

We could and should stomp the hell out of them bc we match up really well with their weaknesses but there’s been several games in the past where we should’ve blown them out.
