UK Cheer Coaches Fired

I'm not gonna pretend that I didn't go to a party college, but at the end of the day, those ARE somebody's daughters.

The staff were rightly fired. That's the equivalent of "lack of institutional control."

But yeah, college kids are going to be college kids.
I read this and couldnt help thinking this sounds less like a "camp" and more of a retreat. Especially with alum there. Sounds like if there had.been no coaches this wouldnt have been an issue.

The saddest part was the cheer alumni showing up for the drunkfest. That just sounds pathetic.
If you were 2 years out of school tell me you wouldn't be there too.
Now if it's 70 year old alums, not that would be creepy.

I’m sorry, but the “that’s somebody’s daughter” argument always falls short with me. I’m guessing this wasn’t the first time that this had happened and I wouldn’t be surprised if this were some sort of an annual tradition. If there was no sexual misconduct that took place and nobody did anything against their will I fail to see the problem. It’s not ideal, and if I had a daughter I wouldn’t exactly be happy, but as you said kids are kids.

The things that I’ve read were that this was a sour grapes episode where some mom whose daughter didn’t make the cut narced on everyone and threw in the buzzword “hazing” to embellish the story. Have you heard anything like that?

I havent heard anything like that. But, would you want your daughter to have to participate in that tradition?

I said I wouldn’t. Potentially having a daughter scares me, so of course not. I also know plenty of “good girls” married with 2 kids and a dog that go to Church a lot that I partied with topless on more than one occasion in college. You get college kids together, especially good looking kids proud of their bodies(like cheerleaders), plus alcohol, plus bathing suits, and boats that’s gonna happen more times than it won’t.
It’s science.

I would hope that my adult daughter would chose not to, and if she did that I would never hear about it.

All we had when I was in school was a two story tall bong and sorority girls peeling grapes with their teeth during Fraternity socials. Dammit!!!

You’re not in twitter following any young people are you?
I’m telling you man it’s nuts right now . I live at the beach right now in SC part of the time, Instagram and tiktok have changed things. It used to be a huge unexpected thing if you ever saw a girl in a thong on the beach, now I’m disappointed if they aren’t wearing thongs because it’s become so normal. All these (hopefully) college age girls are just going just doing their thing. I’ve reached a point where I can definitely say that girls didn’t dress that way when I was in school.

I was at Hilton Head last week and I was amazed at the number of girls between 16-30 years old that wore nothing to very little over their rears. A lot of the younger girls were even with their families. I guess this has just become the norm.

I hope this is not a trend to go European, the plus for young woman skin does not offset the men in speedos and the overweight middle aged+ women do don't give it up.

I’m at Hilton Head now. I’ve passed along this information to my 12 year old son and 13 year old twin nephews and they’ve assured me that they will do further research over the next several days.

At those ages, don't they need a chaperone, or at least a study mentor?

If you only partied topless you weren't doing it right. People in their early twenties are not often the same people they become once life and a mortgage needs to be met. Even porn stars get married and have kids.
