UGA's Sherrer on joining Vols: 'Wasn't a hard decision'

Sure wish we could give a shot to Dale Jones, Al Wilson, and Tee.

Would be nice to be able to help some with orange blood. JMO. I'm sure Sherrer and Helton will excel here, also.

I dont mind hiring Pruitt and the other guys, but I cant help but think we should have hired Tee if we were gonna hire a coordinator who has never been a head coach before.

Which do you have the most faith in?

I m not sure who was actually calling the plays for USC in their bowl game against OSU, but who ever was, he/they did a horrible job. Hopefully it was Martin and not Helton. I think the rebuilding jobs has to start on defense and it appears that will be the first step. I also realize that we must have an offense which can put a lot points on the board. Both sides of the ball have to have control of their line of scrimmage and it appears that progress is already being made in both areas. I can hardy wait to see what our team looks like in 2019 and 2020.

There is nothing sweeter than beating Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and the rest of the SEC teams, but anytime the SEC is playing another conference, I will pull for the SEC. I want the SEC to be the best conference in the USA! I do have problems with the fans from Florida and Georgia because they do not handle success very well. Most of the Alabama fans do not act as bad as GA and FL fans. As of right now, the SEC is 0-3 in bowl games and there will be people who will be knocking the SEC. We need to get some wins in the bowls to shut these people up. I am first and foremost a Tennessee VFL, but I am secondly a SEC fan!!!!!!

I'm more of a sour grapes type person. The only real satisfaction I get from a gump, dog or gator loss is if it's against my Vols. Sure seeing their fans all sad about losing is fun to watch, it's just not the same as when the Vols cause that pain.

Just don't ask me to call off a losing streak for anyone of the three. The rest of the SEC can win or lose, they are mostly irrelevant. So sure, Go SEC.

Four USC vs. Ohio State storylines to watch for in the 2018 Cotton Bowl

To clarify the Helton-Tee situation in the Ohio State game.

"Helton left USC after the Pac-12 title game to take the offensive coordinator position at Tennessee, leaving a vacancy on the staff which has been temporarily filled by Bryan Ellis, an offensive administrative assistant.

Trojan head coach Clay Helton and offensive coordinator Tee Martin have both insisted that little will change without the younger Helton, since Martin already handled playcalling duties.

“Passing game coordinators have the ideas in the passing game, but ultimately it’s my
decision to say if it goes on the call sheet or not.

However, reports and rumors have long suggested that at least some of the inconsistency in USC’s offense may have been due to a three-headed playcalling system involving Martin and the two Heltons.

The Cotton Bowl should help clarify part of the Trojans’ offensive identity, with Martin taking full responsibility for the attack."

Who gives a **** where they went to school? It doesn’t matter at all. They are hired guns.

This x 1,000.
It's like any career - one makes the moves that hopefully lead to your goal. That is why I find the Randy Sanders situation so interesting. He took HUGE cut in pay and stepped down a level. I am sure ETSU is not his "dream job."

well actually it doesn't matter,as long as they give there all for Tennessee, while there here,is all one can ask of them

That's it. As long as they ride for the brand.

How many head coaches at a high level are alumni of that school? Not many.

True. I will say that it's special when you can get it, like Pat Fitzgerald.
