UGA fans should be embarassed

Huh? What is your point? You think that I'm not a fan because I make the statement that an 11 point underdog does not win often? I can assure you that no one wants that to be untrue in this game more than I do....Did I misunderstand your reasoning and statements?

I'll try again. If a point spread is -11 points, that doesn't mean the house believes the favorite team will win by 11 points. It means more people are betting on the favorite to win by 11 or more. Just random people. Anyone can bet to drive the spread either way depending on who and how much you bet. Do not mistakenly believe that "experts" believe Georgia is going to win by 11, or whatever the spread is right now.

great post. Give them more ammo after our team is going to have a hard time getting up from the LSU game and Kiffin saying we will never lose to Georgia. Just plain stupid.

Do you think Georgia is going to have this posted in their locker room or something?

do some of y'all really believe that this message board is used to fire up georgia?

georgia is playing to try to get bowl eligible. that's their motivation.

they have four losses with florida, auburn, and georgia tech still on the schedule.

tennessee drilled them last season.

i think they will be motivated to not lose 5 in a row.

I believe Mark Richt has a VN account and dedicates hours a day to finding what we say about him and his team. Also, I wish he would stop calling me for advice on every game.

uf is not a top 10 team---they are lucky to be in the top 20 after that bad showing in the bama blowout.

Yeah, looking like a 5-7 type of year in Athens.

All I know is the Georgia fans down here are mysteriously quiet this year. I'm not hearing any smack talk at all, and that is a first.

So regardless of what we've seen from them on the field, they're one of the best teams in the country because of the meaningless hype they're getting?

Based on their record and ranking yes. Doesn't matter how they look on the field. Their record and ranking says otherwise.

There wasn't anyone home. They busted the door in. He lives there with one of the linemen. Not sure what they took but it was in 3 trash bags. Uga cop cars, Athens Clarke county, and undercover drug task force. Uga car left first about 10 minutes before the others. No one is there now.

Not quite correct.... The line is set at where the house thinks that equal amounts of money will be bet each way. If more people start betting one way or the other the line is moved to cause a balance of dollars bet...This allows the house to cover one side's bets with the other side's money. The house makes it's money by charging a transaction fee for everyone who bets either way,,,:hi: AND, I'll try again, IF you don't think that an 11 point favorite wins the game a majority of the time, then you don't understand....I think that you would benefit by reading all of the previous posts.

Not quite correct. If this was always the case then this week's line would have gone down as 65-70% of the action is on UT and the spread has gone up. There are several factors that go into determining the line.

After the game, we won't have to compare how we lost to better teams.

The Dawgs will have won and we can put a lid on the BS about how great the teams that beat us really are.

Remember, it took 2 OT for us to beat UAB.

Action or dollars? The only factor in the betting line is dollars bet....Correct me if I'm wrong, but action means the number of bets placed vs. $ amount of bets placed...?

A win is a win regardless of how you look at it. At least the team was able to suck it up and keep it together to pull out a win. Its week to week.

I'm not saying it was not a win, only that the UAB game is a much a reference point as is the LSU game.

We're not that good. Big shocker.

The % number is based on actual dollars. As someone stated in another thread, if a sportsbook has 10 people betting $100 and 1 person betting $1000, the $1000 bet will theoretically have more effect on line movement than the 10 $100 bets. When you see a line moving opposite what the numbers suggest, be very careful with your bets.

With all that said, I'm by no means a professional gambler and have a lot to learn so don't bet based on my advice.

Maybe I am looking at this all wrong, but Georgia is due for their "breakout" game. They aren't as bad of a football team as their record shows, you can expect them to show up with their A game. So basically I said all of that to say this, you better be humble til you put the W on the board, or you might have to eat some crow.

Remember, we beat uab.
