UGA fans should be embarassed

I believe the point being made is if you're going to play the "just a few plays" game, it works both ways. If you're going to tout UT is a few plays from being 4-1 then you can use the same logic for Georgia.

I think that was what he was trying to say except reversed.

I don't think you understand how gambling lines work. The line you see in the newspaper or wherever has very little to do with who is going to win. It's about how much money is being bet one way or another.

Oh, I fully understand...and if you don't think that an 11 point favorite wins the biggest majority of the time...then you don't understand betting lines too well! :) GO VOLS!

No, he asked if we had watched UGA play and said they are a couple of plays from being 4-1. We too are also a couple of plays from being 4-1 with arguably the toughest schedule to date of anyone in the nation.

Yes and his post was a reaction to the OP.

Not clear? Simple fact: A betting line is set at where the booking agency gets equal number of dollars bet by those people who think the score will be more than the line, and those that think that it will be less. To say that the betting line has nothing to do with who is expected to LOSE or WIN is crazy....It is about how much everyone expects the favorite to win by, or visa versa the underdog to lose by....:eek:k: The point is...it's an unusual occasion when an 11 point underdog wins a NCAA football game.

Look they have better depth, better talent and on paper a better staff (proven). All signs point to a loss for UT. They are down, we are down. Talent, depth and staff will have minimal effect this sat. The team whos players who want it the most and leaves nothing on the field will win.

This is why we win! Tennessee left everything they had on the field against LSU. I know the outcome sucked but we proved we can play with the best and I think we do the same with UGA.

GBO!

You consider LSU "the best"?

I consider Florida and Oregon the best and according to rankings LSU is among the best. They are 5 - 0. Until the lose they will be ranked among the best and regardless what we know that's what they are. So to answer your question, yes.

I'd put there D up there.

Yeah I would put their D up there are one of the best but their offense is still trying to find it's identity kinda like ours but overall I don't see them as one of the elite teams but one of the top 25 teams

For anyone with doubts about why UT will win please visit the "whip they ass" thread. It will be clear.

The truth is, Georgia is probably a better team than us in terms of talent and depth, and probably offense in general. We can lose this game big if we aren't prepared.

I also believe we have a good chance of winning despite CMR's motivational antics. But make no mistake, we've embarrased the SEC just as often. UAB lost by over 30 to Central Florida, not to mention 4 straight PAC 10 losses.

I'm not a troll. I love the Vols and have the scars from acts of frustration to prove it, but we are in for a tough ride against any team we play this year.

Very well stated. Like you, I have the frustration scars. I have let a lot of Vols games ruin my weekend.

Uggh. Have you watched GA play. They're a few plays from being 4and1. Don't provoke this team. We'll need every break we can get to win.

UT is one of the craziest plays in recent CFB history from being 3-2 with a win against #10. If you want to say UGA is a "few plays from being 4 and 1" then UT is a couple of plays vs UF and a lightning storm vs the Ducks from being 4-1 or 5-0.

They lost by two scores to MSU and USC. It would have taken more than a few plays for them to win those games.

UGA is very talented and for that reason if no other UT could lose. However, they are yet to show that they are a team rather than a bunch of talented individuals. Their off the field lack of discipline seems to be bleeding onto the field a la Fulmer.

In all honesty, I question their mental toughness. As long as things go well for them then they'll be fine. If they hit adversity then they may very well quit like UT did against Wyoming two years ago.

That is a really good point. Scoring first could go a long way in this game. UGA is a desperate football team with a fragile pscyhe.

So regardless of what we've seen from them on the field, they're one of the best teams in the country because of the meaningless hype they're getting?

Exactly. A true fan is at work here.

Huh? What is your point? You think that I'm not a fan because I make the statement that an 11 point underdog does not win often? I can assure you that no one wants that to be untrue in this game more than I do....Did I misunderstand your reasoning and statements?

Agreed. I feel much better about our ability to deal with adversity. Now all we have to do is give them some adversity.
