I thought it was 2-2 going into the 5th, i thought the two takedowns (even though he didn’t do anything with them) in an otherwise even round would give Chimaev the decision.

Thanks for making a decision there Finland. Clearly Khamzat won Rd 1 and 4 Sean 2 and 3. The decision of rd 5 could have gone either way Khamzat had a couple take downs but Sean took no damage and got back up that and continuing to bring it on the feet bleeding from both nostrils is why I personally gave him the 5th. I respect the wrestle heavy fighters because they are very good at what they do. Sean showed how to beat them last night. Don't get caught close to the cage allowing your opponent to use that against you when taking you down and if they do turn yourself and lean on the cage to get yourself back up.
In the post fight presser Strickland was asked about fighting next in Paris. His reply is Im never leaving this country again I'm American and I love this country. Good stuff
I think it is real a lot of the time and fighters just respect a guy much more after going toe-to-toe. I remember a friend in HS fighting a new kid and they were becoming friends basically the next day.
Sounds like Chimaev is moving up. I hate that so much of the sport is weight cutting. Cool that Chimaev can show up huge on fight day (or miss weight, or cheat the weigh-in 2x) and **** up Bobby Knuckles, but I'd much rather have him fight guys his size.
