So Rory MacDonald signed with Bellator

BTW, this is crazy. I guess this means he didn't think he could be UFC champ?

He's not young anymore and he's not inexperienced. I don't think he can get much better than he is right now and he has 2 straight losses.

That might be part of it but Bellator made him an offer and UFC refused to match it. I think we might start seeing this a little more with guys on the lower end of the top guys. FWIW he said he would be fighting at 170 and 185.

Coker did a decent job of bringing talent to Strikeforce and he's starting to do the same at Bellator. Not saying they'll ever be on UFCs level, but its nice to see another organization trying at least. IMO

That's 5 guys in the last year and a half I think Ben Henderson, Josh Thomson, Meathead, Phil Davis and Rory. All on the cusp guys.

I hate the idea of multiple "world champions" but I think it's good to have a competitor that bids the UFC up for talent. The more money, the stronger the incentive to become a fighter and we'll get better and better athletes going forward.

I do too. I just hope this doesn't become the next Strikeforce and gets bought by the UFC. Coker is using the same model he did to build Strikeforce, decent young talent and older guys that casual fans will recognize. I forgot Kos jumping too, though I don't remember if he got cut. Bellator seems to have more money than SF did so hopefully they stay around.

Looks like Lawler and Cowboy are going to fight at MSG. I'm not sure who to pull for. Should be a hell of a fight.
