She's going to have to fine tune her game plan against Holm and it still may not be enough. It's a really bad matchup for her. I have no doubt she'd beat Tate.

With Cyborg in the picture, it could get really interesting. She needs to get her weight down though. No way RR goes up to fight her.

Probably won't be hard to drop the weight without the steroids. And yeah, Rousey (probably no one) isn't moving to 145 to fight her.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure Rousey would be Tate, too much unknown with how Rousey responds after that head kick.

She could never be the same. It was that devastating. Rousey at 100% is beating Tate 9 out of 10 times.

IIRC her fight at UFC 198 will be a catchweight at 140. I don't know what she cuts from normally, but you wouldn't think five more pounds would be too difficult.

Rousey wasn't a phony when she was dismantling the entire division. Her bulldog approach against an elite striker with a perfectly executed gameplan backfired.

And it was glorious to watch when she was matched against someone she was finally qualified to face.

She beat Tate, who beat Holm. It's just an awful matchup for her. This tripe about her being a phony is absurd. She's like every other UFC fighter (save Jones), she's beatable.

She could hit 135 for sure. I don't see a top tier fighter moving to a catch weight for her. Could be wrong though.

Honestly, after the Tate fight, i'm not sure HH is that tough of a matchup for RR. I think RR just fought a terrible fight. RR panicked when things didn't go her way. Her takedown ability is far superior to Miesha's, IMO.

This is pretty good. So Conor didn't like Nate Diaz's #whitebelt tweet, so he posted a pic of him in his brown belt (as if it actually proves anything - they hand out belts to UFC fighters like candy). Now Dos Anjos is blasting McG for not knowing how to tie it.

Rafael dos Anjos rips McGregor's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on Instagram - Bloody Elbow

Dos Anjos can shut the hell up, he backed out of the fight. And no, they don't hand belts out like candy, unless you're in a joke a gym.

They do. It helps promote fighters. They have all the incentive in the world to hastily hand out promotions. Not all of them do it, but they do it. There is no governing body in place or peer review process. You can just call somebody a black belt. Doesn't have to be a joke of a gym. Gym can be legit and still make exceptions for high profile clients.

Conor has pretty good BJJ, IMO.

High level gyms have reputations to uphold, I'm sure a guy has skated his way to a black belt along the way but he would probably be an outlier.

Rashad Evans' BJJ is a joke and he got a black belt from a Gracie in just 4 years. He hasn't had a submission since his very first pro fight, likely before he trained much BJJ. Compare that to Diaz who had 10 submissions before earning his black belt from a Gracie.

This sort of thing seems to be fairly common. Common enough that i feel comfortable saying the color of your belt doesn't matter.

Heads up...early fight night again today

Anders has gotten so funny over the years.

UFC needs to do a better job adverising these events. The only reason i thought to look for this event is bc Faber posted weighin pics on FB.

Did anyone catch the name of the guy that broke his finger and had the bone sticking out? I missed how it happened and want to go back and see

I only started watching at the Cedenblad fight. Glad I didn't see that though. eww

From the interview after the fight he went a whole round with it like that and won the fight. It had to be because of the adrenaline and endorphins but after the fight he was showing it off and taking pictures of it out. I really just want to know his name so I can try to watch his fights from now on
