UF was "vanilla" on offense - per UF fans.

Mark it down, every team that is on the Gator schedule will be watching our defense on how to shut them down. If we had a QB we would have won going away but the Gators will get beat this year

The notion that UF was "vanilla" or "held back" on Offense is just dumb and idiotic for UF fans to think of. They had EVERY motivation to want to embarrass UT and make an example of Kiffin, and they simply couldnt do it. No offense will look good against our D this year. To suggest that CUM and Tebow didnt wanna put up 60+ on us is ridiculous. Our defense just had different plans. I think UF fans would be MUCH better served to turn their attention to, and worry about the UGA and LSU games they still have to get through. That amazing defense of theirs will have to actually defend the forward pass in those games.

We had every motivation to WIN the game. Your defense is amazing, they're the ones who kept you in the game and they're the ones who put you in position to win the game. So let me ask you, if your offense is playing like a bunch of girls, why would we risk having your defense win the game for you?

It's the same gameplan Miami came to the Swamp with last year. It was a much closer game, 9-3 near the end of the 3rd. But in the end, Miami tried to actually win the game, and they ended up losing 26-3. The difference is that Kiffin never tried to win the game, so we never had the opportunity to blow the game open either. But, we'll gladly take the win, the series lead, the SEC lead, and no additional injuries while you vols can choke on the joys of a moral victory.

So if he was "directly behind the tackle" he was in the pocket and that makes it grounding - a little different than your first post saying it wasn't so obvious. I just saw a replay BTW he was behind the LEFT tackle. Nice work. I will confess that it happened on Tenn's last drive and would not have stopped their TD as stated earlier. My error. I was almost asleep by then.

College kids are college kids papa. Some days they are off.

FL -28.5 wins at home by 10.
TX wins against Tech by 10.
USC lost outright in a game they were a huge favorite.
Tenn (@ -14) last week lost to UCLA at home.

FL is not looking great so far and likely loses to LSU on the road. AL looks good too and is always a tough running team and that will make a tough game for UT on the road.

I'm sorry we don't agree on the way y'days game panned out. I still think Kiffin should have gone down the field more Crompton or not....you can't win the game diving into the line with 5 min. left. That's a certainty and interceptions are not. He could always coach the kid - he looked ok to me against LSU three years ago so it's in there somewhere.

I said the non call on the grounding was borderline. You said it was obvious. He freaking slid to behind where the Right tackle had been. In fact he rolled outside the tackle, then back in to evade the rush. Once out of the pocket, he's out of the pocket. I not sure which replay you watched, but it ws wrong or inverted.

You are just dumb as hell. Don't try to talk football. What was that long pass Crompton threw? A punt?

The offense was vanilla. I know that you'd rather not hear that, and it's fine with me if you want to believe that Florida wanted to waste plays against a team that showed it's cards in the first minutes of the first quarter.

Most people that I was with in the Swamp, recognized right off of the bat that UT was playing to not be embarrassed, rather than playing to win. So did Florida's coaching staff. Pretty much everyone that I was in the box with knew the game was in hand before half time. It was almost surreal. Normally, everyone would be biting their nails, but we watched the UT playcalling, and watched the UT players and told each other, "They want the game to be over as soon as possible", and proceeded to celebrate early. There was no need to open up the playbook, because as long as we were up 7 against this UT team, we weren't in any trouble at all. Do enough to win, and save your playbook for an opponent who proves himself worthy. We'll need those plays one day, and we don't want any of it on the UT game film for teams like Alabama to see. Let them go back a year or two to find it, and wonder about everything that they see.

Now, you can watch the game through your orange colored glasses, and I totally expect you to do just that, but anyone can see that the playbook was barely more substantial than the last 2 Gator games.

Like I said before, your coach is a snake oil salesman. He accomplished what he sought- UT fans saying "We're almost back!", even though he lost, rather than risk embarrassment by trying to win the game. He'll tell the less sophisticated 17 year-olds, and of course, the majority of UT fans who naturally want to believe that the sky is the limit, "We're the place to be!", but what's really great about college football is that he still has to go out an play the games.

Oakland Raider fans know the game that he plays. It's all about fooling you into thinking that what's on the label is what's in the bottle, that is, until you run out of patience. He's doing the very same thing with UT. As a Florida grad and fan, I feel great about next year already.

So, congratulations on not being embarrassed, and enjoy your "win". May you have many such "wins" in the future.

I'm going to totally enjoy this "loss", because I'm an old school football fan and Gator, and when the Gators end the game one point or more ahead against a foe, I consider that a "win"... er... or loss, or whatever you Tennesseans like to call it. I don't care what the predictions were, and I don't care what the sportswriters think. We're going for an undefeated season, not style points. We don't need any style points, since we're already number one. All we have to do is hold on.

I think that it's hilarious that you people think that Gators are making excuses for a win! I think that it's funny that a UT loss is a win to some of you! Hey, but you know, if it makes you happy, I say, "Go for it". Don't worry, for every lame-brained UT fan who is drinking the snake oil, there's an unsophisticated Florida fan who's pouting because it wasn't a blowout, feeling as if it's a loss. That's fine with me, too. Just as a moron thinks a loss is a win, a person who believes that a win is a loss is equally moronic.

Enjoy Kiffin's marvelous and amazing cure-all! I heard that it fixes car engines, cures cancer, and works better than Viagra as well. That's some stuff!

Catawba must be Floridian for allergic to tinted glasses. Good lord, was that ever free from any slant. I mean, how ridiculous would it be to look at UFs offense and see no downfield playmakers whatsoever? How crazy is it to see that d stacked at the LOS and watch it struggle, then assume it will struggle against good teams?

Love the ojectivity. Wish we could find some here.

Urban was so sure he was going to win he asked his star QB to go one on one in the open field with Eric Berry.

All offenses are vanilla once you run
them for a while. Florida did what they had to do to win the game which is run the ball on inside handoffs and Tebow options. The receiving talent at UF is very limited. It will be very interesting to see UF offense next year with Brantley. He is talented but he is not a playmaker a la Tebow. Meyer's offense is not like Spurrier's where you just plug in a QB and pass short passes to play makers. The spread Meyer's runs relies heavily on
the QB to make plays.

I was thinking the same thing about Brantley. Another question I have is will Brantley be abe to take the hits that Tebow has?

If you are right, why are you on this site writing a novel about your team's play calling, how over rated our coach is or about the future of your program. Your team won, congrats. My team lost. It seems to me that you saw something that made you nervous or you would not be on here defending your win.
