Newton would be an upgrade over Crompton, but we both know that's not saying very much. All I'm saying is, Newton is not the answer if you guys have championship aspirations in the next 2-3 years.

He had accuracy issues and character issues at UF, and if you saw his performace in UF's spring game against better competition than he faces each week at Blinn College, you wouldn't be as optimistic.

For those of you who didn't watch the video, the coach practically crawled up the wall to grab the sign that was in no danger of getting in anyone's way - at least anyone who isn't about 8 feet tall. A few of you have commented on how the sign was "in his way" - you're lying and you know it, and frankly it's pathetic how such an obvious observation can be so blatantly distorted in a feeble attempt to find humor from an otherwise negative experience.

How about trying to get some measure of satisfaction out of your own football program, rather than being reduced to moral victores and half-witted attempts to find humor in the activities of your opponents fan base (without lying of course)?

"the person" is a 45 year old woman. As I'm sure most of you don't know the geometry/layout of the tunnel at UF, the angle and height of that retaining wall makes it impossible to hang something like a sign in front of anyone, and moreso, a person would have to be hanging over the railing in order to see a coach running out of the tunnel and have the time to "taunt" him with a sign.

Also, someone who obviously didn't watch the video commented about "calling on a cop" to grab the GA. The cop instinctively grabbed out at an individual who jumped up in the stands and grabbed something from a fan. It happened about a millisecond after the coach hit the ground, idiot.

If Ron Artest and LeGarrete (sp?) Blount have taught us anything, it's that you don't incite fans...it's just wrong.

When and fan comes on the field, sideswipe his butt and knock him out, Gator, Vol or otherwise. Initiating contact with a fan is bush league, plain and simple and you people who applaud this guy should question both your administration and your dignity.

you are dumber than a freaking log, read your own post idiot......the GA could not have grabbed the sign if she was not holding it out over the tunnel.....the GA did not touch her when he grabbed it, the sign that was not "in the stands" as you put it.....iI would love to see someone jump high enough to have reached over that wall and grabbed the sign from her if she was not holding it out over the wall.........epic fail

Honestly, if I saw a Gator Coach do that I would crack up. I watched the Miami Hurricanes run out on the field after halftime at Neyland and run right through the Pride of The Southland Band, the place went nuts. But it was funny as H**L!! Humor must run in short supply @ Ben Hill Kiffin Stadium! Oh yes, we will own it soon, and we will make the wanton destruction of a sign a punishable offense, 'kay?
