I'm sure lane kiffin is intimidated by a bunch of UF rednecks wearing some lame t-shirt.

I'm normally the first person to say that there's no such thing as a moral victory, but the hype around this game is going to be such that it will almost seem like one if Kiffin can keep it within three TDs or so. And that might be doable -- run the ball 40 times, hang on to the football, make decent special teams plays. If you're able to do that, Meyer only gets about 8-10 possessions, and it's tough to run up the score on somebody that way.

If it's the beatdown everyone expects, then the national media will talk about how that brat Kiffin got his comeuppance, and a week later everybody will have forgotten about it. But if it's relatively close -- anything under 20 points -- the takeaway is going to be more along the lines of, "Hey, Kiffin's off to a pretty good start at UT." And in a season that's mostly about laying the groundwork for championship runs in the future, that almost counts as a win.

Does anyone know if the time for that game has been set? As much as I'd love it if that game were at night, I hope its at noon. Though there will be some drunk idiots out there even then, it will just get worse as the day goes on.

I believe that it is an afternoon kick-off, the 3:30 CBS game. Should be steamy... but I agree that the early kick-off should help with crowd control.

Agree, its going to be difficult for florida to hurdle the bar that they are setting.

Oh, I do think that Florida is going to put a beating on UT, I really do.

My concern is that our fans in the lower stands don't embarass us in the process. It might be wise a week or so prior for Meyer and Tebow to do some spots for the local media encouraging everyone to be loud and obnoxious, but not endanger anyone. Wouldn't surprise me if there were a couple of spots with Meyer and Kiffin together, maybe show it on the jumbo a few minutes before the teams take the field.

I remember a team and it's fans focus was on an opposing coach (Spurrier). Didn't work out too good. Kiffin ain't playin' so keep your eyes on him while we kick you in the jimmy.

Why in the hell would Kiffin waste his time doing a jumbotron spot with Meyer? For that matter, why would Meyer waste his time on it?

Uh, we've had two losing seasons in the last four years. Damn right it's gotten that bad for us.

If this Kiffin-fueled spotlight weren't on the game so much, then I wouldn't be thinking in terms of a moral victory at all because nobody would be watching. National champion drills 5-7 team; who cares? But with everybody in the country salivating over the possibility of a 40-point beatdown, then yeah -- an unexpectedly close game would provide a chance to help Kiffin sell what he's building in Knoxville. Which is by far the most important thing about 2009 for us.

Just a joke. I do like Kiffin a great deal and I like that he is brash. I'm hoping that Uf is focusing on him more than game at hand thats all.

If we go in to Florida and some how pull the upset, I am curious to how many UF fans will be coming out of the stadium shirtless. Hey LG, if we pull the upset are you going to wear your Kiffin beatdown shirt out of the stadium or take it off?

I don't think you realize how riled up some Gator fans are about Kiffin. I would like to think that for the safety of the fans, coaches, and players, that some sort of effort will be made to keep emotions in check and the whole thing in perspective.

The gator fans are going to be horrible and I can accept that, however, having to listen to the talking tools on ESPN is what will push me over the edge. Will not be surprised if Gameday is there and Corso/Herbstreit will be drooling over Urbie/Tebiow. Sick.

If UT and UF go in to that game 2-0, I would almost guarantee Gameday will be there.
