I remember quite a few on here calling Dan Mullen “mehlen” and saying he wasn’t a good coach. Meanwhile, our guy has losses to Georgia state and has been beat like a drum by vandy and Kentucky, has more losses over 20 than butch or Dooley and he’s in year 3. Wonder what “mehlen” is gonna do to the beldar led vols this year 😂

he hasn't won anything. this game today will be his best win against a team with a horrid offense and team that consistently under performs.

4-7 in 2017 before Mullen
10-3 in 2018
11-2 in 2019

Theyre competitive and there were lots of guys on here that said back before the 2018 season that that we had the talent to hang with them and they were going to suck. Which was waaaaay off the mark. So Mullen is clicking off 10+ win seasons and contending for the east. It's only a matter of time. I hope Pruitt can embarass him but for the life of me I'm just not seeing that....

People here tend to think if you don't win championships at craphole programs that are historically awful, you aren't a good coach.

Just yet another at least 21point loss for mr peanut. At this point in the 5 to 15 year rebuild that's ok cause we will work like heck to get better

Looking for a bright spot... We’re getting a break by playing the Gators at the end of regular season. I suspect that once they have a 40 point cushion, they’ll come out for the second half and play every and any warm body they can suit up. Protect their starters and let a couple squads of high school kids finish out the game and get some experience.

It's funny how before the start of every season Mullen gets dogged on this forum and then he goes and wins. We missed getting back to relevance much sooner when we didn't hire that guy. Look at how he brings in what he needs from the transfer portal. Does anyone think he wouldn't bring in a transfer to replace JG if he couldn't coach him or the others up? I'm all in on Pruitt for another couple of years but can't help think what could have been.
CJP's major flaw so far has been not pulling every string possible to get either a transfer in to replace JG or giving the keys to the offense to either of the backups. Had CJP had any foresight in this matter he would have begun this process last year or even before.

Mullen started out from scratch just like Pruitt. He was allowed the time to turn into what he is today.

True but I don't really see where this thread as a "fire Pruitt" type discussion. More of a "what could have been a lot sooner". I'm all in on Pruitt and think he will get us there in a couple of years. It's just tiresome to see all the wrong predictions here about Mullen. Time for some on here to quit saying he's no good cause the evidence doesn't support that.

I agree with that. Mullen is one of the most respected coaches out there among coaching circles, fwiw so is Pruitt.
