UF is gonna score 100 on UT

It's funny how before the start of every season Mullen gets dogged on this forum and then he goes and wins. We missed getting back to relevance much sooner when we didn't hire that guy. Look at how he brings in what he needs from the transfer portal. Does anyone think he wouldn't bring in a transfer to replace JG if he couldn't coach him or the others up? I'm all in on Pruitt for another couple of years but can't help think what could have been.

To add, I can only assume Kyle Trask didn't get his first career start as a QB till he was a junior was because Franks was a better practice QB. Guess it took an injury to their Starting QB to see the talent they had in Trask

Didn't everyone laugh at me earlier this year when I said Stetson Bennett was the 2nd worst SEC QB (even worse than JG)? You can't win without a QB in today's game. If Jamie Newman hadn't opted out, Georgia is competing for a national title. With Bennett, they are a 2nd-tier team even with elite players at virtually every other position.

On that note, we need to play Maurer and / or Bailey. We're not going to win anything with JG. I don't know if Maurer or Bailey will be a great QB yet, but I know that JG's never going to get there.

Mullen is a joke and probably the most overrated coach in the history of college football. it will be a battle when they come to Neyland. it better be if Pruitt wants to keep his job.

Is Georgia's defense highly overrated or is this further indication that in today's game a very good defense might slow down a strong offensive but won't stop them, unless the offense is just having a bad game.

I think Ga. defense is good but college football has changed. Ga. has as good of defense as anyone in the country, but to win any championship in major conferences you better be able to score points. Kirby with all of his 5 star talents on the field, cannot compete so far with Fla. because their qb can't connect down field on a consistent basics. Pruitt has the same mentality, you cannot beat a good team if you don't have a good qb regardless of how good your defense is. We may beat Ark with the old school game plan, but not Fla, or A&M. Got to have a qb not afraid to throw the ball and I am afraid our coaches are gona cause our qb on the roster to play conservative instead of going for it because they are afraid of a turnover. Trask threw an int. the first half, but look at the offensive points. You are gona have some turnovers with a wide open offense but you will also score enough points to win a lot of games.

With Jg at qb we will get stomped, Fla is gona score a lot of points, we better have a qb in the game who at least has a chance to put up a lot of points or we will get beat very bad. Running game won't do it against a potent offense regardless of how well your defense plays.

38 points in the first half alone against the best defense in the country with a QB that started as Frank’s’ backup...........yeah, Mullen’s pretty good

Mullen is very good, look at his record. He is like many other good coaches though, has trouble picking out the best qb. The only reason Trask is playing is because Franks got hurt last year. He really did not know what Trask could do until he was forced into the game. Just as Pruitt doesn't know what our back ups can do without giving them a chance in the game. Yes they will make mistakes, just as Trask did last year, and this year, but look what game experience has done for Trask. Same could have been true at Ut if just given a chance without such as tight leash on our backups.

Just looked at Trask’s 247 page and he was the #92 pro style qb in his class...

Mullen is a weirdo, but he is a helleva good coach. Trask looks like a Heisman candidate and they may very well score 100 on us with they way they throw the ball.
Said the exact thing in another thread. This UF offense is going to hit the century mark against us:
1. our defense cannot defend the pass
2. JG will gift UF a few turnovers for short fields
3. Our offense will have so many 3-and-outs our defense will be exhausted at halftime.

it really sucks when you know it will be a blowout.

Florida is good because Dan Mullen is an offensive genius that has offenses that can carry mediocre defenses.

For some reason folks like @VolFreakJosh thought Mullen was a horrible coach for Tennessee.

I’ll eat crow.

Still think Mullen is an immature prick but he’s doing well at Florida.

he hasn't won anything. this game today will be his best win against a team with a horrid offense and team that consistently under performs.

Boat raced is the term you are looking for.

Since I don't see my earlier comment, I will repeat it.

If Trask were playing here - no one would know if he was any good, because he would be a backup behind JG.

It’s a bit presumptuous on my end, but FL could embarrass us. Oops, forgot, that’s already happened this year already. As of now, we are not in their league

Offense >>>>>> Defense in modern football. You have to outscore people with good offenses.
