UCLA Coach Fired After 0-3 Start

Nico wasn’t his biggest problem…that team pretty much sucked in every phase of the game. I believe Foster went 5-7 in his first year but the 0-3 start is worse than it looks when you look at who they lost to and how they lost…UTC, MTSU, ETSU, TSU all would have a great shot at beating the Bruins. It’s hard to understand how bad Foster was as a head coach…he makes Dooley look like a decent head coach

I’ve watched every game. Nico is one of the best players on their team. UCLA hired a guy who wasn’t really qualified and was getting fired soon either way. But it does make the comments of “wanting to play with and against better talent” even more obvious that it was all complete bs to save face after getting called on papa Nico’s bluff.

Also, we still 100% upgraded. There is no debate at this point.

Exactly - Nico is their leading rusher after 3 games…at least a RB out gained him yesterday but he’s still the leader in attempts and yards for the season. I’m sure most of those runs were him running for his life…he might want to get the flu or something before the Ohio State game - they might kill him this time instead of just breaking his helment.

Remembering all the CFB pundits who said TN would regret letting Nico go. Maybe they should be fired for incompetence
I can't understand why we were willing to roll him out there again this year. If you're going to pay these guys like pros you need to cut them like pros.

Had Nico not taken his ridiculous stance he'd be right back here throwing balls in the dirt behind our receivers.

He really bailed us out because we were going to ride that donkey again this year and it was going to be tough to watch yet again.

UCLA is a program that I honestly feel bad for. They've won a national championship, competed late into the season for a few more, and have won (I think) 18 conference championships. Located in a talent rich area. If they could ever get their NIL situation fixed and get boosters to care about football, I think they could turn things around.
There are too many other things going on in LA, and people don't seem to care much about college football. I've spent a little time there and noticed that nobody talked about college sports and it got very little coverage on the local news. LA is definitely not like the south when it comes to football.

If Nico were out of the picture, a place like UCLA would be the perfect next step for Golesh. I don't know if he has any recruiting relationships on the West Coast but everything else is ideal. His/our brand of exciting offense would get the crowds who want to go watch fun football.

I'm starting to think Joey wasn't the one not watching film.
Me too. ucla could not have watched much film of Nico, wideouts and screens he was pretty good at but very poor on downfiled passes. Unless Nico and his camp only showed some highlighs of him.

I wonder if ucla roster did not like Foster getting rid of Joey in favor of Nico, and played with no intensity?

I just we would move on from Nico. It’s time to put the Nico threads to bed and be concerned with going 11-1. We then get another chance to beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game. It’s time for all of us, the media in Knoxville, etc to quit giving an update on this kid every other day. Lets move on!!!

I agree and think he wants to stay on the west coast..Maybe Oregon or Stanford .JMO

Stanford for sure. Lanning wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. He was the one who tipped Heupel off about Nico's family shopping him. I only really care about Tennessee but if I had to pick a "second team" it would be Oregon because Lanning seems like a solid guy and there was a lot of mutual respect between the fanbases (although they kicked our tails in the home and home series).
