Hopefully, florida fans don't buy up all the extras. They are annoying enough as is.

Isn't that sorta like going to Grandma & Paps house(which they built from the sweat of their brow), and sit them on the front porch so that they might reminisce about the good ole days. Instead, you then move the family heirlooms to the front lawn while they must watch you have a yard sale?

shows people are not coming out. thanks hammy your are the man

I bet these came from a scalper(?)...but not from UT who had asked you to make a significant contribution in order to have the right to purchase those same($10) tickets for $60+ each...true?
Scalper, not really. Just a guy who couldn't use the tickets. I completely understand your gripe with the university. The growing ticket prices/contribution is the reason why after 15 yearswe quit getting season tix last year. Even though it is more of hassel to get tickets now we save a lot of money.

I got that price in my email from the Tennessee Fund. I think that price is only available to donors. I could be wrong though.

it's to anyone on their email list. My wife got it and was probably put on when she bought O&W tickets.

I don't see the issue, if it's not sold out get rid of them. Making $20 is better than $0

I'm not sure I get the reference here so I apologize if I'm missing something.

But I think it's sorta like that if Grandpa had cheated on his taxes for years and Grandma spent her whole life giving handies under the table to all the neighbor boys. And now they have to pay for their actions.

I find it funny that people complain about ticket prices whether they are expensive or too cheap. Hamilton really can't win.

He's a brilliant financial manager!

Say what you'd like but Damon Evans was given credit for Georgia 's # 2 listing in the nation's most profitable football programs in 2009. $47 million ....behind only Texas..........like $65 million.....and he's available. I'm sure he wouldn't mind chasing "orange" panties for a while.

I think that either the reader will get the analogy, or they will not; I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. However, this possibly sets a precedence for future expectations(ie. "the tickets will not sell out...so I'll wait to purchase until the tickets go on sale...and to beat it all...I won't have to make a donation")? I hope not! If this were the case...how will future plans be funded?

So people complain that ticket prices are too high, and then run out and whine when they are reduced? :banghead2: :mf_surrender:

Hell, why not just open the gates 10 minutes before the game and let whoever wants to come in just enter and fill all the empty seats. A full stadium is better than 75K or so. I'm sure the players can feel that emptiness.

How long has it been since another school led the SEC in attendance? This will be the first year in a long, long time. Bama will average right at 102k.....we will prob. fall below that with the UAB and Memphis game. Sad! Pathetic!

Even if he gives them away, Hamilton is sure to tweet us when the game 'sells out."

What a buffoon we have for an AD!

I don't see anything wrong with offering tickets for half price if this is what it takes to fill the stadium. Unfortunately, this is the state of our program right now, and with this being an early game, and a not very good team that we're playing, (and all of the fair weather fans) I think it's a great idea for them to do this. Give those people that may never get to see a game a chance.

This is great news for me! I might try to take my boys to their first Vol game. That will be much more affordable for us. They won't care that it's UAB and not FL, AL etc.

I usually need a few extras for people that show up at my tailgate party without tickets. I'll be able to get these for $5 or maybe less!!!!

Good move IMO, and Should reduce student tickets for the rest of the season to $0. Charging students was a mistake.

UAB tickets reduced to half-price through the Athletic Dept. Face value be damned, dropped to $20 a pop. Just another feather in Hammy's cap.

He didnt drop all of the tickets values, just the south endzone. Chill out. They are trying to match the economy on a not so big game, UT is doing fine financially but they are trying to give a lot more fans a chance to attend the game.

And it obviously worked bc all of the lower level and a lot of the upper were sold out by 930am
