Lost at home tonight to Schnellenberger's retooling FAU squad. No reason that even this depleted UT bunch should have any trouble with them.

Remember UAB beat LSU in Baton Rouge Saban's first year. We should win, but don't overlook anyone.

I'm not so worried about Florida. I am more worried about Oregon. Florida minus Tebow = not much.

This will be my GF's 1st Vol fb game. Should be a no-stress proposition here. It's a guaranteed win so if she has any questions about the traditions, crowd, etc., I won't be so caught up in the game emotionally that I tune her out. I can even go and get her concessions and (if she wants to) leave a few minutes early and look like a hero all the while knowing that I haven't missed a thing.

It's not the UAB game directly that I'm worried about, it's the fact that the last two times they've been on our schedule, we've won only 5 games.

Florida is still a deeply talented team with or without Tebow. The one thing they will lack is the 3rd and tebow plays Urbie likes so much.

True, but they were also on our schedule the last time we won a national championship. :)

So blitz on 2nd down a lot keeping the Gators in 3rd and long a lot, our running game vs their passing attack should make for a 35-31 game.

Yeah, that Tebow is the only blue chipper they've ever landed at that meddling Sun Belt-wannabe program.

:shakehead:

It's inarguable that Tebow was the cog in that offense. Before Tebow (with just Leak) UF's offense was not spectacular. We'll see how they do with a completely different playstyle of QB against a UT defense that (finally) should know what they're doing against a spread when not being run by one of the singular most impactful players in CFB history.

I'm not going to make any calls about our more prolific games as we have no idea what we're going to get this year. I can see this team going 4-8 or 8-4 just as easily.

We are an enigma wrapped in a question mark. It's all about how well our staff can coach 'em up, and how fast we can grow up. Hoping for the best...

The problem is that we've hired someone as DC who might've actually been more effective against a Tebow-lead spread offense than a pure passing attack. While Brantley's getting a ton of hype, if he meets the hype halfway we just likely don't have the secondary/pass rush to be that effective. The right blitz calls by Wilcox will be key in that game.

There are definitely wildcards in play this year, but to say Florida "isn't much" is discounting a loaded roster.

You will see. Tebow was alot more to Florida than just "3rd and Tebow".

Why else do you think Urbie tried to jump ship?

Just because some past UAB team won a game against a team with name recognition doesn't mean the current team is any good at all. They aren't. If UT were to lose this game, Dooley should be ashamed and resign.
