UAB Game: Day or Night

my guess is that this game will be homecoming (hasnt been announced yet). Being that its still in Sept and could be blazing hot, I suspect it will be a late afternoon game if not a night game. When in doubt, appease the alumni.

The UAB game will most likely be at 7 on either FSN or CSS, who get to select games after ESPN and SEC Network and each have to broadcast games in a window starting at 7 pm.

As mentioned, our Pay Per View game has already been selected, and each school is now only allowed to have one of those per year, with the others being required to be picked up by the league's TV partners. The SEC TV contract guarantees that every other game will be made available on TV.

The Homecoming game has already been announced as Ole Miss.

Thanks DP. Did TN have any games on CSS or FSN last season?

nevermind, Deer. Found it and I see what you're talking about. I was strictly looking at the football schedule. Guess MH has more to do than ensure the game schedule is up to date.

We did not, none of our games fell past the ESPNU selection. Most of the other schools did. All of the games are done in HD, so nothing to worry about there.

It's certainly possible that ESPNU picks it up as well. But looking at all the TV possibilities it's a near certainty it will start at 7/7:30 (I failed to remember that the FSN games were actually at 7:30)

The only games that don't start at 7 are the CBS and SEC Network games. Everything else (in normal weeks) is in the 6/7/7:30/7:45 start window. Since it's a lock the UAB game won't be on CBS, and there are several more compelling games for the SEC Network game (Aub/SC, Bama/Arky, LSU/WVA, KY/FL, MSU/GA), then we're definitely going into one of those night slots.

What do you mean "schedule is up to date"? Homecoming 2010 has had a firm date since last year. The University designates what game/week it is, not the Athletic Department. They always pick a game in October or November that isn't a conference game (per SEC request). Since we have to go to Memphis this year, they had to go with a conference game and went with Ole Miss week, since there's not another home game in that timeframe.

Several years ago, 07, I believe, we also had a road game at Memphis and the University selected a September game for HC and it was a huge strain on the campus groups that participate.

Just got back from Freshman Orientation. UAB is family weekend, and will be played during the day. the homecoming game will be the Ole Miss game. Additional note, Peyton Manning was seen throwing balls during practice on monday.

It ain't Miami(2002 Homecoming), but it's still pretty dumb.

Not sure what they were saying at orientation, but UAB being parents weekend has zero bearing on what time of day the game will be, TV dictates thta, and as I've said, it's going to slip to a night game timeslot.

The UT Martin game is 99% to be a PPV, but we shall see. Still a possibility that it gets picked up. It'll be a night game regardless.

StubHub is the least reliable place to find gametimes. They don't even post the correct times for games after they've been "officially" released.

If the UT Martin game is a PPV game (which is about a 99% probability), then UT gets to select the gametime and will most likely set a 7 pm kickoff.

If for some reason one of the TV partners selects it, I still don't see any way its not at 7. FSN, CSS and ESPNU all have 7ish windows that they use.

I wish every game was a night game. More time to drink at the house and hit on sorority girls. Plus it wont be so hot.
