Yes, but you are so much smarter.

Thank you. Yes, his economic advisors are idiots. But there are plenty of economists out there who are much smarter than me. They agree with me on trade, and would be better equipped to help with other questions that are a little more difficult than basic economics.

Give the trade thing time. It will work itself out.

Trump has been calling NAFTA a very bad deal for the US, but it's not. It's been a good deal for us. Could it be better? Yes. Do I have faith in the guy who doesn't even know it's a good deal to come up with a better deal? I'm not betting on that horse.

Free Trade Has Worked. Just Look at Texas.

He also has been calling on tariff free trade , now that should be right up your alley . I would assume ( dangerous I know ) that you would be or should be happy with any amount that he’s able to save the US in tariffs .

Kind of like we have to pass it first to see what’s in it ?

Yeah, that's the nonsense I was referencing. Even with analysis of the deal, we won't really know how good it is for years. The problem with that is it doesn't really matter how well it's working because a demagogue can just call it a "very bad deal" and people will buy that statement, despite the evidence that says otherwise.

I expect the Dims to obstruct this every way they can because they simply cannot let Trump have this feather in his hat so close to Nov.
On CNBC this morning they said that Pelosi had 24 different investigations against the Trump administration that she was proposing. 24.

So what you are saying is we should have just left it alone until a bunch of politicians , economists and lawyers in Washington all agreed on what the best deal would be ?

I would be happy with it and I have no problem giving Trump credit, where it's due.

I'm pretty sure the only time he's ever mentioned supporting tariff-free trade was when he proposed it to the EU. He knows they won't accept it and he gets to claim he wanted free trade. I'm going to go ahead and say that the Trump who has been blasting trade for 2 years is the real Trump, and the Trump who made that offer is not the real Trump.

No. All I'm saying is that I'll believe it's a better deal when I see it.

What we should do is say to the world, "We're removing all tariffs. Watch us prosper, then follow our lead."

Trump hasn't been blasting trade, he's been blasting unfair trade.

Glad to hear this. Still wish he'd started out negotiating, rather than threatening. Wasn't necessary, at least with our allies.

Honest question , what kind of allies do we have if they virtue signal in public how horrible , despicable and vile Putin and Russia are and at the same time paying him billions to get 80% of their energy from Russia ?
