I was at the game and I haven't seen film of the game. To me the first bad game of Mathieu's career. The long pass play it seemed from my point of view Reid made a jump to the outside receiver so there actually nobody on 60+% of the field. It looked like a play where their was no pressure and a good pass. All CBs have to have short memories. Saying someone is not going go catch a pass on you is fairly stupid. IMHO ALL CBs get the ball caught on them.
Over all LSU's D looked pretty flat until the INT.
Yes, Mathieu is good, yes he talks to much, and yes he will get the ball caught against him.
When teams are focusing on winning individually battles, when LSU plays it like a team game, I consider that a victory.
Ummm, Da'Rick didn't just catch a pass on him, he made Mathieu his b*tch by knocking him back 3 yards then dragging him 10 yards. Call it whatever you like, but Mathieu got punked.
Da'Rick didn't make anyone his *****. If he did he would have had 200+ yds. receiving and Vols would not have lost by 31. CBs have to have short memories or they will not make it, EVERY SINGLE DB gets burned and Mathieu will get burned. A bad night for a DB is defending a guy that has 150+ yards on you and multiple TDs, heck the team a whole only had 128 yards.
Trust me, if that is the worse night he has had as a DB he is doing very good. Not the best night of his career, he talks a bunch of smack, I am sure he got some back but too me the Vol's played right into the Tigers strategy.

No, its very simple. You are a respectable poster around here but your boy ran his mouth and didn't back it up. He got run over multiple times and really had little impact on the game. He has to own that too. Just a young punk who needs to grow up a little... and gain a little weight... and stop flappin his jaws.
I do get your point and I wish TM would STFU at times but at the end of the day it was even a very successful day for him. I am actually glad he got a earful, I see nothing wrong with a little smack talking but he kind of goes a little too far with it. IMHO
Although I kind of agree with you, however the game as whole it would be considered basically a good game for most DBs. I need to watch the game on film as I was there but as far as I can tell there were no real blown coverages, but sometimes I hard to tell being at the game.
Again, your point is well taken, if you want to give TM some crap I have no problem with it. If he is going to dish it out then he has to be able to take it. My bet is on LSU's secondary and eventually TM is going to make someone pay, in general.
