Also, and I'm clearly not on board with the Tyndall hire, but I think it's best that we stop comparing him to Pearl. No one is going to win from that. Just my honest opinion. Time to move on.
It's as if none of the yahoos in charge remember the war of northern aggression
Or maybe they remember it quite clearly: E. Tennessee actually fought for the Union, had the first paper in the entire US (North or South dedicated solely to abolition), was considered the freest soil in the ENTIRE country to speak of abolition, and tried to secede from the rest of the state after it voted to secede. East, Tennesseans accompanied Sherman on his march.
People that that say the Pearl lovers need to get over him, well the Pearl haters need to get over him too.
Riiiiiiiiiight, because the Fulmer and Kiffin/Dooley/Jones conversations ended so peacefully and quickly and nobody would ever type "Fulmer > Jones" would they??
lol:
reference: Fulmer >>> Jones
Fact:
Fulmer had a .743 winning percentage
Jones has a .618 winning percentage
Partially true. The truth is that we had divided loyalties, mostly with the North . In the courthouse square here in the middle of Greeneville, we have a monument to Union soldiers, and a monument to Gen. John Hunt Morgan, a Confederate General, hunted down and killed here in town.Or maybe they remember it quite clearly: E. Tennessee actually fought for the Union, had the first paper in the entire US (North or South dedicated solely to abolition), was considered the freest soil in the ENTIRE country to speak of abolition, and tried to secede from the rest of the state after it voted to secede. At this point, Bruce's résumé is much stronger than Donnie's, but only time will tell whether Tyndall is >, <, or = Pearl. Now that they're in direct competition with each other in the same conference, the future comparisons and value judgements will be easier to make.
