I'm not a fan of Coach Hunter. He is the definition of a mediocre coach. He's 361–265 (.577) in 21 seasons of being a head coach. He has only ever made the NCAAT twice, and I repeat TWICE! That right there says it all.

I'd rather go with a young, unproven coach like Hurely that show's ton of promise and potential.

Coach Hunter would get us no where. I can't see how anyone would promote him for potentially being our next HC if Tyndall is let go.

Wichita States head coach would be nice but we've swung and missed there already. Idk who we would get but it will hurt seeing Tyndall leave.

Also coaches I would be okay with looking at

Daytons HC Miller
Indiana HC(rumors of cutting ties) Crean
Xavier HC
Wichita St. HC Marshall

Dream hire would be VCU HC Shaka Smart

Also other names out there but I hope we can keep CDT because I think he can succeed here. The more I hear of the news, the more I feel he won't be our coach next year.

Shaka's wife is a professor at VCU so he'll be there for many years to come.

I like CDT as much as any coach but I am tired of being under NCAA cloud for doing nothing wrong. Perfect time to be hiring coaches as they lose in the tournament even though our replacement sits in Chattanooga.

SD50 You are so right my friend. We have a real good AD, and the VN village idiots want him fired because of unifying us as the Vols brand. There are a bunch of women who absolutely hate it but any other use of the term "Lady" would normally be considered sexist by them. I will add that I think a certain group of fans also dislike Hart because he came from Bama. To some that is enough reason to fire him. We have a fan bases that is ignorant of what really goes on in an Athletic Dept and only sees Hart hired someone who is now in trouble. Hart checked with the NCAA at the time of the hiring and was told DT was clean is my understanding. Hart did his due diligence, but lets fire Hart now after the fact. Crazy, just crazy.

I was upset with the CDT thing when it broke. Very upset, but now I am kind of like EFF you NCAA he is our coach and if you can not find a reason to show cause him then by golly we will keep him and beat your azz on the court.

Jimmy Cheek and Hamilton totally mismanaged the ADdept. which put us in the mess we have been in for half a decade. I believe we would be in the dance right now if they handled the Pearl situation correctly. Add in the Kiffin, Dooley and BaseVols disasters. Hopefully the Tyndall situation will be handled better and we can start a new chapter in UT sports. However, Jimmy Cheeks is still lurking so there is a possibility he will find a way to muck it up.

Vols WILL NOT do this.... Cost way too much money.....AT THIS POINT YOU MUST RIDE IT OUT.... And we should to see what our options will be instead of reacting and really messing up this thing .... Having taught upper level management decision-making for years... First principle..,you make the best decision possible with the information you have available.... Everything we're talking about here is speculation at this point....

I like Donnie T. but has of right now it is like UT is on probation with him being here. Reason I say that is the recruiting part players do not know how this is going to play out so they have a hard time committing to something that is not a sure thing. Plus you can bet all the other coaches are using it to their advantage.

The difference in then and now, Hart isn't afraid to stand up to ole Jimmy boy...... Check his resume, he's already called Cheek out on several different occasions on how things was being done and got them corrected. I have faith in AD Hart and I for 1 am happy he is our AD!!!

Doesnt sound like anything new to me, just more speculation.

Translated that whole "report" said, ut wants to know something now, ncaa isnt ready, cdt MAY get into trouble resulting in suspension, u may or may not be able to read anything into syracuse ruling, blah, blah, blah...

No one knows crap & while its an educated guess, it still just a guess.
CDT is our coach & will be unless something drastic happens. Hart cant do anything until ncaa rules, cdt has n his contract that ut owes him nothing if he has had ncaa violations in his past. So its all just wait & see. I for one hope CDT is here as long as he wants. He out coached most of the sec this year, he has proven that once this is cleared up he will recruit very well here, his style of play is fun & is proven to work, & he fits in perfectly here.

Anything short of a show cause and we must keep Tyndall. Great coach and doesn't need 5 star players to compete and win. Keeping my fingers crossed he doesn't get the show cause.

How bout 11 million just to Fulmer and Dooley combined? That doesn't even count the assistant coaches that we had to pay during that time period when we fired them while they were under contract.

I'll preface by saying I don't really take a side in the keep/fire Hart argument.

The people who take issue with Hart take issue with the hires as well. He messed up the football hire and got rejected by Charlie Strong, that worked out alright so far. Could have easily been a disaster. He then gets rejected by Michael White for the basketball job, only to turn around and hire Tyndall in less than 24 hours. Tyndall then almost immediately has a major investigation on him and his former program.
