This I can get ticked at cbj for, Byrd needs to be on the field. He'd create plays himself if the coaches can't do it for him on offense. Watching on TV is impossible to tell, but does he get separation from the defensive backs when he's running routes?

I'm happy that we might bring in a better coach. I knew since he started repeating the mistakes of 2015 that he wasn't going to cut it. I'd rather deal with this than a decline.

For the coaches to give Palmer all this snaps and Byrd barely plays is sad..i can't blame butch for Byrd u have to question beard as a wr coach..Beard is in charge of the wr rotation..why isn't Jeff George playing? Bryd should have went to Miami.He would have been a All American corner..They are using Brandon Johnson wrong too ..They don't even know what type of player they have..All the balls he gets are underneath..He don't get explosive plays..I think Butch will figure it out I think he needs to take more control..

Hm. A coach like Saban would tell Byrd to SFTU and do as he says, or hit the road. Can't have the inmates running the asylum can we? Or is Byrd allowed to have a **** attitude?

Not that he does, but you guys make it sound like he's bigger than the team.

Also easy to point out that Byrd was injured last game.

He was "underutilized" in the ISU game due to injury. May not be 100% yet is my guess.

Byrd himself tweeted that he's been good.

I wouldn't say OP is spewing crap. Byrd is way to good of a WR to not be getting playing time or touches. I thought he needed more last year.. if we're not going to get him the ball then atleast play him at DB. Why can't he play DB and have occasional plays on O?

We must like our defender's to get beat at least two times a game. It is inexcusable and is directly on the coaches. These DB's have been in our system way to long to be this damn bad.

the whole Byrd ordeal boggles my mind.. wouldn't blame the guy if he left. I was hoping he'd have a break out year this year (he's got MORE than enough talent for it), but he's not even getting touches.. i really don't get it.

and not playing him @ CB when that is our weakest position? I don't even know anymore man...

Me either. He is a playmaker! And his main role in this offense seems to be blocking, and maybe seeing the ball once every two or three games. What a gigantic waste of pure talent and speed!

imagine if byrd went to Miami playing under mark richt and that defense many diaz got down there..he would've started right away last year..Miami started 6 true freshmans on defense last year and byrd would have been one of them..

Byrd originally committed to be a corner at Florida. Then Muffcramp got canned. Then he flipped to Miami. Then Scott came to Tennessee. Byrd followed him here, where we have commenced to wasting his considerable talents.

1st Abernathy is a safety not a corner 2nd he is a damn good football player . He got beat on one play in one game. For Christ sake it's one game and the legions of the miserables are calling for the coaches head, and calling out players that bust their asses everyday for Tennessee. We got beat on a fluke play in the swamp by 6 points, the season is not over.
