Tyler Byrd moving to Defense??

Tyler Byrd should have been a corner the first day on campus. He was a beast in HS and the AA game. I was so happy when he came to UT, but was not happy about the position change.

This is a fantastic move...but we need to possibly reinstate Jennings and sign four WRs with at least two studs that are ready to come in and contribute...

Murphy-Williams
Johnson-Jones
Calloway-Palmer

Unless I’m missing something that’s all we’ve got at this point

Considering how few balls that are thrown to them that is enough. He’ll move Kelly, Chandler or TEs out there but get defense corrected first

He could be end up being fantastic as a CB. Has the size a speed to match up with anyone. Helps our depleted DB depth, but now our offense only has Callaway and Johnson as WRs with significant experience, unless Jennings gets reinstated.

I believe you're spot-on. I think Jennings gets reinstated and therefore it sures up our CB's and our receiver Corps!! It's the best move Pruitt has made since he's been here, Imo. I believe Byrd would have been an all-sec or better corner, had he started at that position from the beginning of his career. JMO

That’s ugly. Only Callaway and Johnson have shown anything. Just a huge disconnect between Botch supposedly being an old WR coach and the abysmal WR play we saw here during his tenure. I pray that the next staff restores our WRU legacy. Right now, after Lyle, we’re closer to WR-PU.

And after being moved to TE he was so underutilized it was pathetic....

Tight ends at Tennessee were used for blocking and an occasional pass every now and then....

Jason was such a talent...and had a pass catchers hands

The NFL soon found out his talent that the Tennessee staff had overlooked....

67 catches for nearly 800 yards his junior and senior seasons as a tightend. Underutilized? Maybe, perhaps, in hindsight given how his pro career has turned out.

The QB competition should be interesting not to mention what QB’s that sign. I still have hope that QD and JG can improve with better coaching. The overall lack of player development was unbelievable under the previous staff.
Wouldn’t it be something if one of those guys ended up being very solid after this season is washed off em

Sort of reminds me of the Nauta kid at UGA playing TE. Last year Eason and Nauta were the offense. This year Nauta disappeared from their offense, caught his second TD pass of the season against Auburn the second time they played.

I mean how many downs played did Moseley and Martin have these last 3-4 years? I think they had a combined 3 interceptions and gave up countless big plays.

Some of it was coaching, but they simply were not talented at reading routes or making plays on the football.

Wiggins was an improvement over Martin when he played, but there was too much hype on him last year, too.

Are you serious? Wiggins was a joke. He couldn't cover a biscuit with a roll of napkins. The kid was outmatched in the SEC. Got hurt every time he made a tackle.

Has to be Dormady or McBride. JG is all hype. McBride is a much better athlete and JG just holds on to the ball too long.

If you ask me Gaulden is already better than Fitzpatrick. Far and away the best player on our defense.

Im sure Gaulden is declaring for the draft anyway. To much risk to return with the film and drat grade that is out on him

This team will require the Men In Black memory eraser thing in order to get rid of bad coaching techniques. I know CTF will show these guys what it means to wear the "T".

Callaway and Palmer both will improve a ton in the off-season with good coaching and a offense that will get them the ball

Maybe I would say that if butch was back and it was same offense but those two guys struggle with learning a playbook. Brandon going to be the alpha wr next season.

Reminds me of when Miami moves Sam Shields to CB after 3 years of WR. Similar kind of lanky athlete. I have a hunch this will be a good move.

I couldn't stand sam shields couldn't catch a lick but he was a good corner in the pros though

Best DB? How do you figure? We have talent at DB just no player development. Osborne will shine and so will Sham. Both better then Moseley and Martin. Pure poor coaching decisions not talent.

He has the most talent and will receive the right coaching at the same time. Shamburger starts at the other corner spot imo.
