This right here says it all about this young man as a person and a player, about our footVol program and about our coaches and their families.

Quote:
"I loved the campus and I loved the players there," Byrd said. "Being with the players and seeing Alvin Kamara and Cam Sutton give up high draft picks to come back and play made an impression on me. They decided to stay and win and not take money."

"It's a great feeling," Byrd said. "He never really said anything to me about Tennessee until the last month. He respected it and he always wanted me to be happy. When I started thinking about it then he started telling me more about Tennessee and how great Tennessee is.

"I feel like I can help from Day #1," Byrd said. "I'm going to have to come in and work. It's not going to be easy, but I'm going to work and if I do all that I need to do then I feel like I can come in and be playmaker."

"I feel like I can help all over the field," Byrd said. "I feel like I can help on special teams and just be a playmaker at corner or safety. I know I can just make plays no matter where the coaches play me."

He's also very fond of special teams and cherishes the chance to help."My high school coaches emphasize special teams," Byrd said. "It shows what you are willing to do to help the team. Most people don't want to be on special teams. I just want to help the team."

Helping make the decision to switch easier was the Tennessee coaching staff that left quite the impression on Byrd. He really enjoyed the entire staff and feels like they are going to help put Tennessee back on the National map.

"They have told me I can help them on either side of the ball," Byrd said. "I liked being around their families. They have their sons there and they are all great men. They are great husbands and really good coaches. I believe they can get Tennessee to that championship level."
-VQ.

Still in high school and a class act all the way around.

This guy is a huge WIN for our coaches and our program!

The melt on their boards is AMAZING. I thought VolNation was bad

This is exactly why I scratch my head at stupid crap like this. There are a select few on this board that have never seen any other fan bases boards apparently and I just smh when they put ours down.
