How much of a chance does Tyler Bray have to break Peyton's career TD record?

What chance do you give Tyler Bray to break Peyton Manning's career passing TD record of 89? He is currently at 55 with a probable 5 games left on the season. He is also very likely coming back next season.

Very good, assuming he starts continually until the end of next season. Give him 2.5 TDs per for the rest of this season and 2 per over 12 games next season and that's 34. So that's 89 total even without bowl games.

Tyler could easily end up around the 70 td mark by the end of the season especially with a bowl game. If he does come back for his Sr. year he could end up crushimg the record by doible digits. If both Hunter and CP return it won't even be close.

It's all about if he comes back next season. His TD/Starts ratio is pretty rediculous

Manning spent his off time studying the game and practicing. Bray practices with beer bottles. Peyton didn't have to throw it 40+ times a game.

I bet you are a stud athlete to right and by the way he was driving his team down the field to win when he got hit from behind. Some of you people sitting behind your computers don't have clue what it takes to play sports and y'all would make the best coaches is what y'all think but we know better. You couldn't carry Tyler's jock strap!!!!!!

What's the excuse for the UGA game (three times)? Certainly not being hit from behind. It's hard to argue with him when he doesn't even give himself an opportunity to turn it over on 4th down, but rather turns it over on his own on 2nd down. If he failed a 4th and 5, that'd be one thing, but he hasn't.

Maybe Bray should attend the Manning passing camp.He might learn a thing or two about being a leader and a field General.

He does have an excuse for the last one because that one occurred when we were on our own 35 yard line with 15 seconds left in the game and no timeouts.

44 should be enough to win every game. This one is on the defense.

Bray needs to come back next year to work on his ability to handle pressure.

Other than that, he has unlimited potential.

I'm just glad you know it all's think one player makes a team last time I checked there was know I in team. He's human and he will make mistakes and I suppose you don't. I don't here any of you knows bashing anyone that drops the ball it's just the coach and the qb. Why don't you and the rest of you so fans do what you are supposed to do and support the team and not bash them all the time.

It's a good thing I know what a homophone is, or else I would've been completely lost in what you were trying to say in that long rant. And I've said similar things regarding Hunter and Co. for the drops. However, since (not sense) this thread is about Bray, there is no point bringing them up. But when the junior doesn't understand (prior to USC, showed a little improvement) how to not rifle the ball in on a 5 yard slant like he's trying to throw 50 yards, it isn't always on the receiver. Plus, when he can't hit a receiver who has no defender within a 20 yard radius, it is hard to make excuses for him.

It showed be, but it wasn't. And that same defense did put the ball in his hands three times. After he failed on the first two, they still got the ball back for him. And again, if time ran out on him, or he went 4 and out, I wouldn't bring it up, but he hasn't even done that.

If 44 points isn't enough to win a game in regulation, then you have a problem on defense. That's all I'm saying.

To put it in perspective...During Peyton Manning's 4 years at Tennessee, his record against SEC teams would have been 7 - 25 if opponent scored 51 points. All 7 would-be wins came against teams at the bottom of the conference standings like Kentucky.

You can always look back at a game and say you could have scored every time you touched the ball. No one ever has...not even Peyton. We are scoring more points per game this far into the season than we ever have. And, we've never played 5 teams in the top 15 like we have this year (4 of them are in the top 9).

And getting the ball back in Bray's hands, 65 yards away from a TD with no time outs and 15 seconds left on the clock, isn't something that should be blamed on Bray.

Fair enough. But in another thread, someone posted that we've had 14 second half potential game tying or lead taking possessions (including, but not limited to those "walk off" possessions), and have failed on every single one. That is not the fault of the defense.

34 in 18 games assuming he comes back, doesn't get injured, and the team makes it to a bowl game both years. He would need almost two per game to break it. Very feasible.
