Is anyone else really frustrated with the exaggeration of the media? First, Tyler Bray gets hurt once and becomes injury prone. And now he makes one stupid mistake and draws parallels to Stephen Garcia and his actions are referred to as "repeated antics". I realize he claimed to be more mature and this is a setback internally. But I think sometimes we forget these are college kids that occassionally make mistakes and it should not be their grave if they have one minor mistake.

Do you agree or disagree?

He's a bean pole. People assume he's "injury prone" though all I've seen is people saying he needs to stay healthy for Tennessee to win a lot of games.

This isn't the first dumb thing Tyler's done. He's nowhere near Garcia level of stupidity though.

Was it that big of a deal? No, not at all. However when it's this time of year and the player and coach goes out of their way to point to a greater level of maturity/leadership to the media and fans then that player makes a bonehead mistake like this we shouldn't be surprised. This time of year the media is just looking for a story and he handed them one on a silver platter.
It is what it is and in short order it will go away as long as he keeps his nose clean. If he plays well and keeps his nose clean it'll go away even sooner and won't come back until NFL draft time.

Agree. Because they are in the spotlight the writers have to have something to write about and they don't necessarily care whether these guys are immature 18 or something-yr-olds. They're feasting on what ever stories they can write about at the moment. How many articles have we seen posted recently about any college football player that gets into trouble at other SEC schools, as if we really cared about who gets in trouble at other schools.

Agreed, nailing a helmet with your throwing hand happens. It is not like he tripped running out of the huddle and cleated himself in the face or something. I am disappointed that Bray put himself in the position to act out, but it is what it is. Hopefully he has learned from it and matured a bit more.

As for things getting overblown, unfortunately perception is reality now days. Common sense and reasoning is lacking in our society in general. I have gotten to the point that I do not watch or read the news and media information. I get my Vols info here and I do watch the weather to determine work schedule on my farm. Other than that, I work hard, stand strong in my beliefs and sort of isolate myself from the social, political and general media BS that is clouding/twisting the values of this country.

I disagree to being like Garcia. I disagree with the media that this incident is a big deal and that Tyler is injury problem. What I agree with is the laying down against Kentucky was unacceptable. For the beer bottle incident I would do nothing more than have him help the stadium crew clean up Neyland after the first home game if I was Dooley. But as for the goofing off against KY I hope Dooley got that message across that mistakes and losses happen but athletes should never quit. I am assuming this season will be squeeky clean from here on out for Tyler seeing as his dad seems to be a good guy and will do the guiding along with Dooley to make this a successful season. Go Vols!

I think much of it is overblown because of the state of the program. We are all well aware that DD is on the hot seat and if we were to lose our starting QB for diciplanary reasons it would just about put the nail in the coffin. Everything that could lessen our chances of being competetive is a big deal so expect many mountains to be made out of mole hills.

Disagree. Not the first incident of acting stupid, just not to level of Garcia yet. TB accepted the leadership role on offense and was the face of the program at SEC Media Days. That role is important to the all of us if we are one Volnation. Make light of it if you want. Get trashed and throw beer bottles at your computer screens.

If you don't want the program ridiculed by the media make sure you have the right players representing the program when they are ready to assume the role. He can recover from this by proving it on the field and staying out of trouble the rest of the way.

Or admit the fact a 20 year old college kid doesn't care what you think about him.

Bray has done a ridiculous amount of work in the community with kids. He's gone above and beyond what's expected of most college students.

Acting like a dumbass is nothing new for a 20 year old athlete at the University of Tennessee.

I'm pretty sure he is up to 220 lbs.

That isn't huge, but it certainly isn't a bean pole.

I am mad at Tyler Bray for putting our program in jeopardy.
Shows lack of respect for the University of Tennessee, his team mates, and fans.
Not to mention the people that had damage done to their cars.
If a person is 18-20 years old and does not know the difference between right and wrong, then maybe that person is retarded.

He is a heavy bean pole. Bray has a very lean frame. Even at 220, he looks skinny. His shoulders neck and head have thickened though. Slow process on working its way down I guess lol

I don't disagree with this at all. But no one should be surprised at the media reaction. When you put yourself and the coach puts you out there as the more mature team leader and then you do this it should be expected. In essence by putting a player out as the more mature leader you're in a manner of speaking inviting the media to watch that player even closer. It's not the end of the world and if he keeps his nose clean and plays well we won't hear about this again until the NFL draft.

Get a grip. He didn't put anyone in jeopardy aside from himself and even that's questionable.

At what point is a 20 year old a kid. I thought 18 years old you could vote and join the military. Bray needs no special treatment and needs to quit screwing around. Come on. College kid my a__.
