Hey guys I saw this forum on SEC.com and the topic is the future QB battles between Tyler and Murray from Georgia. In it you can post who you think is better now AND who you think will be better down the road. I realize I'm drinking the orange kool-aid here and give my vote to Tyler but I would have to blind not to see that Murray is a star as well and that this battle will be fun to watch. So my I will say Tyler but I wanted to get some of Volnation's thoughts on this. Please humor me and make this a legit debate, throw in some pros and cons of both QBs

Neck and neck right now. I think Bray is gonna end up being a lot of completions, TD's and picks type of guy. What happens with Murray in the long run depends entirely on Richt.

Murray is fairly accurate, but is very mobile and can extend plays and make things happen. Bray won't extend any plays with his feet, but he is very accurate and can make all the throws. Murray reminds me of Matt Jones and Bray reminds me of Ryan Mallett.

Totally agree on Richt's impact on Murray, we know all to well what coaching situations do to QBs. IMO Murray is an Aaron Rodgers-type QB, a little more athletic I believe. If he stays healthy and makes it to the NFL and lands in a system like the one Rodgers runs I believe he can be a stud at the next level. Tyler is just a gunslinger that you put out there and let him go to work, will fit any pro system and will have high numbers like you said.

Besides the fact that I bleed orange there's just something about Bray that makes me think he will be a better QB. Maybe its his Gun-slinging style but I dont know. Anyways I do feel that Bray will be more consistant down the road because the coaching position at Tennessee is more stable. IF UGA has another 6-6 or 7-5 year then Richt will most likely be out and that could cause some problems for Murray.

I do hate Georgia the the burning passion of a thousand STDs, but Aaron Murray is a good quarterback.
Bray's decision-making will hopefully get a little better, and I think they'll both be recognized as the conference's best soon.

Murray is a very good QB in the college game.

He's athletic enough to extend plays and take off and he's got a good arm.

Bray isn't going to burn many defenses with a 20 yard run but he's got a bigger arm and is a lot more accurate.

I think they're the two best returning QBs in the SEC.

Me either.

Matt Jones was a good enough athlete to play WR in the NFL. Murray is not.

Mallett's got about 3 inches on Bray and, in my opinion, is worse under pressure.

Mallett does not have 3 inches on Bray unless you are talking about the length of something else.

Pretty sure that Mallett is no more than an inch taller than Bray, if at all. I can see the Bray/Mallett comparisons except for Bray being a little more mobile and having a higher upside.

I think between these two and the kid from Maryland, Danny O' Brien, we will see another big three in college football over the next few years. O'Brien just looked phenomenal when they finally put him in this year, I couldn't believe he was such a low 3* coming out of H.S.

Mallett has 1 inch on Bray. I can see the comparison in that they are similarly built (at least in height) and have similar arm strengths but I agree that Bray is already better than Mallett when under pressure.

If you say so.

Mallett's listed height has changed from 6' 8" to 6' 7" to 6' 6" back to 6' 7".

It's not really that important except that NFL scouts see QBs over 6' 6" as another Dan McGwire

Matt Jones was a freak of an athlete. Murray may be mobile but he's not close to MJ. He was drafted in the 1st rnd as a WR and never played the position

And Murray isn't playing basketball for UGA or getting drafted as a WR in the first round either.

Would you say that Bray is a legitimate 6'5-6'6?

Tyler has a beter OC.The WR class that was signed with him was the #1 wr class in the nation.Aron might have a beter OL this year(might) but after that it's Tylers.Production numbers for career is going to be in Tylers favor.

Besides....Tyler is the beter QB anyway.
